Help! FP+ Question with both Hard Ticket and Normal Ticket

I'm trying to figure out what to do about this, as our FP window opens tonight at midnight.

I have both a hard ticket for MVMCP and a normal 4 day military salute ticket for December 18th. I know that FP can be made with MVMCP tickets. We will be using our regular park ticket to go to Epcot before 4 that day, then will be going over to MK.

How do we make FP's for both Epcot (on our normal ticket) and MK from 4-7 (on our party ticket)? I have read that the party tickets need to be on a separate account to do this, but when I called Disney, they told me no, you can just select which ticket you want to make FP, and they also told me they cannot un-link a ticket once it has already been linked (when I asked if I could unlink my party ticket so I could re-link it to a separate account to make this work).

The question isn't really about reassigning the ticket, though. The same people who the tickets are assigned to are the same people who will be using those tickets. I'm basically just wondering how MDE knows which ticket you want to assign FP to when making selections if you have more than one ticket for a person. Because the cast member I spoke to said the system will let you choose which ticket you want to assign to, but everything I've ever seen when doing it in the past just asks which person you want to make selections for, not which ticket. Hence the issue when each person has more than one ticket eligible for FPs.

FP are linked to MDE based on a ticket entitlement - they are not directly linked to a ticket.

If you wanted 6 FPs for that day, you'd have to reassign a ticket away from that specific MDE profile. ScrapYap explains the difficulty in reassigning the Party ticket.

Without reassigning either of your tickets, you are limited to 3 FPs for each person listed in your MDE account.

Sounds like another one of "those calls" to Disney. You don't like to think that a CM answering the phones for Disney could be so wrong, but it happens all the time, unfortunately.

The CM was wrong. You can't "choose" which ticket to prebook FP+ for. Each individual only gets one set of 3 FP+ no matter how many tickets they may have assigned to their profile. Maybe they have a couple of comp tickets, a leftover non-expiring hopper ticket, an AP, and a party ticket - all assigned to the same person. That person can still only get one set of prebooked FP+. Which is why reassigning the ticket away to a phantom (or a friend or relative who will let you borrow their MB) is the only way to get a second set of FP+. Follow the link in Hiro's post, as this can be trickier than you think.
