Help for those there now!

My mother, who went to Florida on her own without us for the first time took my 83 year old grandmother and her highly disabled live-in client. Her client is set on seeing Pocahontas, which I know she is in Animal Kingdom, and according to the My Disney Experience app she is there daily starting at 10 am in the Discovery Island Trail. What I need to know is if anyone has actually seen her lately and how hard will it be to find her?

We are self proclaimed dis pro's but since we are in Maine and my mother is in Florida and isn't familiar with the parks at all, it's very difficult to get her to understand the way the parks work. She thinks there should be a giant arrow pointing to Pocahontas and that she should be standing there all day with no line. If Pocahontas isn't there then I am going to tell her not to go to Animal Kingdom and go to Magic Kingdom where there are more Characters that her client will like.

If it's not obvious, just ask any CM in the general vicinity. Given the makeup of your group, I wouldn't be surprised if the CM walked them over to it.

We had no problems finding her when we were there a few weeks ago. There was practically no line too so that was nice. I agree, if you can't find her just ask but she was right on the main trail.

I agree - ask - when we were there in January we had to ask and we're pretty much Disney pros. She was tucked back near a tortoise (who wasn't out due to the cold) on a side path. I remember it as near the Care Center (with the large lady bug lights)/ entrance to Africa but I could be wrong on that being the entrance to the path. Once we were on the right path we easily found her line.

Tell her to walk PAST the giant giraffe holding the Africa sign in it's mouth and then the sign for "Discovery Island Trails" is right past that. I was confused by that... because once I saw the Africa sign, I figured I was in Africa. Not the case.

And yes... tell her to ask!

She is by the Galapagos Tortoise. The meeting spot can be tricky to find, so tell them to get there ahead of her meeting time to give themselves time to find it and get in line. And definitely ask CMs for help to find it, it's not the easiest spot to find. Last time we were there, there was quite a line to meet her.

Luckily there is a sign with an arrow - the sign just says 'Discovery Island Trail' and not Pocahontas. Just echoing PP, heads towards Africa, past Pizzafari, and the sign will be on the right. Follow the path around to the right and there is typically a line you can jump into. I had no idea there were turtles there, I look at the Porcupine and the Macaws.

if you miss her in AK you may get to see her on the Streets of America at HS during character Palooza. We got to see her there. See Kenny the Pirates website for times it is an informal character greeting with a bunch of characters that is not publicized.

Do you mind me asking what brand your shoes are and where you purchased them?? They kind of look like crocs to me??

Thank you so much everyone for your advice. I told her to go directly in and ask either a CM or guest services but she's a little stubborn. I will definitely be passing on any info that I can to her so that if she decides to be try to do it on her own she may make it. I am just afraid she will waste a lot of time searching for her. I saw a few of you posted that you were there very recent like yesterday, did you see Pocahontas?
