I do love traveling. But I don't think I am a theme park/roller coster fan. (Sorry to WDW fans!) My first WDW trip was 8 years ago and I don't think I remember much other than Epcot and Cypress Garden. I am taking my parents (they came to visit me from overseas) to Orlando this December. I am not sure whether they like WDW or not. I don't think they were terribly impressed with Disneyland and Sea World in California before. However, I think Orlando is still a good choice for vacation during winter. We definately will let them get a taste of the theme parks first.

I don't see people talk much about other atractions in central Florida. Can someone offer some tips in case they are bored with the rides? Anyone has experience with Gatorland, splendid China and a orchid garden (I don't remember the name)? How about KSC? Is it a fun drive to the space center? Thank you so much in advance!

I think you need to give WDW another chance. The four parks there are not a thrill parks and there is definitely something for everyone there. You and your parents would likely love Animal Kingdom, and if you haven't been to Disney Studios, you should try that as well.

Take some time to explore the World Showcase in Epcot and enjoy the street entertainment, do some shopping, and have a nice lunch or dinner.

If anyone in your party enjoys golf, there are 99 holes available for play in WDW... and according to my husband they really do cater to you in every way!

Exploring the different resorts in WDW is a treat unto itself. They are very well themed, and many have wonderful restaurants and shops.

You might want to shop at Downtown Disney, as well.

As for other things in Orlando, there is Sea World, the Holy Land, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure (the last two are more in line with "thrill" parks than WDW).

There are also some impressive state parks, as well as a winery in Clermont.

Personally, I could spend 2 or more weeks in WDW and never leave the property, but to each his own. I do think that you owe it another chance... it really is different than the parks in California.

There is a great Titantic attraction there somewhere. I haven't been but I have heard that it is wonderful if you are interested in this type of thing.
