My parents are coming with us on our Disney trip and have told us they will watch our kids, ages 3 and 1, for however long we want. We want to do something adult and special for ourselves and it most likely will include a nice meal, so I was just wanting some suggestions for a romantic evening. I've looked up some nice places like Victoria and Albert's but I am concerned about the price, Wow! I don't mind spending some money but I want to make sure it is worth the price. I'm also new to disboards and not sure where to post my question because I need suggestions for the rest of our date day/night like where to go and what to do. I appreciate any help.

I don't have any specific dinner recommendations because we tend to not go anywhere romantic when we're there. I do recommend watching the MK fireworks from the beach at the Poly though. DH and I had the opportunity to do this on our last trip and it was one of the highlights even though it was so simple. It was just nice and quiet and relaxing.

Victoria and Albert's is certainly expensive but it is worth every penny and very romantic.

With that said, my DH and I enjoy California Grill, Jiko's,Blue Zoo, Artist Point,Narcossee, Shula's and Citricos on our date nights in Disney.

I would have dinner at Bistro de Paris in Epcot (if V&A is out). We love Epcot's WS at night. It can be very romantic. If you drink wine, there's plenty of places to get a glass before dinner, while you stroll through the countries. Naturally, there's other alcohol as well. You could eat early enough to see Illuminations after dinner, or prolong your day by eating later. If you're still up for more alone time, exit at Epcot's International Gateway & take advantage of what the Boardwalk has to offer. You'll probably need to take a cab back to your hotel from there.

Or.... If my husband was planning it, he would say to book a nice hotel room (on or offsite) for the day & order room service. ;)

I think the restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin have a more adult "vibe" than most restaurants other than Victoria and Albert's. I like Todd English's bluezoo™ and Shula's Steak House, but I'd definitely want to try Il Mulino, as well.

I like Bistro de Paris, but it doesn't speak to me as a romantic place, even though it is more upscale. Maybe it was because there were more kids in there than I expected.

I would also recommend a walk around the WS at EPCOT for the evening because it is delightful at night. I also think you should walk over to the Boardwalk and Yacht/Beach Club area. I love how that area looks at night. I don't think you can go wrong eating in that area or EPCOT.

Nothing compares to Victoria & Alberts. It's ranked as one of the top 50 restaurants in the US for a reason.

Second I would pick bluezoo. The food and service has been very good and we've always been lucky to enjoy a quiet meal here.

I'm sorry to hear that Bistro de Paris is no longer romantic. My husband and I have had many romantic meals here before children were allowed to order kids' food from Chefs downstairs.

We've had good luck at Citricos also.

You could also check into Private Dining. My son did this at GF on his proposal night; they ate on a balcony of the GF and had courses from the Citricos menu.

I Totally agree with PP's... who recommend the Epcot/Boardwalk Resort area...

I LOVE Illuminations... and it can be VERY romantic anywhere... but especially during an Illuminations Cruise...

You can share them with other families on here to save cost...

If Cruise is too expensive... I'd just say a dinner at the Boardwalk, Swan, Dolphin or Epcot.... Watch Illuminations.... Head to the Boardwalk for some Night Life... I think it's on Thursday nights ? (Help me here Folks) that Boardwalk has carnival type booths open for fun...

Hugs,
Mary

We love Narcoossee's, it is a wonderful place for a date night. Hopefully you can book it so that you can enjoy the Wishes fireworks from the restaurant. We also liked CG, but agree that Narcoosee's was more romantic. One tip, arrive early and enjoy a drink at the Narcoossee's bar before dinner, very engaging bar staff.

1) Stay away from ANY eatery that does DDP.
. . . too many kids
. . . usually very loud
. . . adults who don't know how to act at finer eateries
2) I woud recommend
. . . Shula's
. . . Il Mulino's
. . . Bistro de Paris

This question comes up in many different flavors. I always encourage people to think about what makes a date night for them and not to get too focused on just finding a nice restaurant. I love all of the restaurants listed, but I can go to nice restaurants at home. I can't go pastry and drink hopping in the World Showcase and ride Soarin' at home. Don't let the food get in the way of a great date.
