Help for Before and After Alaskan Cruise

Thoughts....

• have you decided on where you will be staying Sunday night in Vancouver. Cruise terminal hotels command a premium price, but a few blocks away offer savings.
• Vancouver is a bonus port.... you may want to consider spending more than one day there. Lots to do as it's bigger than all the Alaskan ports combined. Some say 3 or 4 days is ideal.

Unfortunately, other than noon until bedtime Sunday night before the cruise and then later morning until our flight on Monday, that will be all the time we have in Vancouver. My husband works for an MLB team that doesn't allow for much time off during the season and even the time off we're taking is a bit frowned upon but I'm sorry- I want to enjoy my young children and family time

I will absolutely keep that in mind for future vacations! I actually wish we'd have more time in Seattle as well but 10 days is by far the longest vacation we've been able to take and I'm happy to have that.

I strongly suggest you have your Vancouver hotel booked (and a rental car if that's planned).

Just realized that August will be a busy month in Vancouver with something called the Americas Masters. While the main event will occur after you leave.... don't be surprised some "advance" teams show up early to test the facilities.

We are flying into Seattle on Saturday for our 6/20 Alaskan cruise, currently we are staying Downtown at the Hilton on Sat night and planning on taking the Amtrak up to Vancouver on Sunday evening. I was planning on also flying out of Seattle but now I'm worried about luggage in Vancouver on our departure day. Will the Amtrak station keep your luggage? So can I drop everything off there and then tour Vancouver until our train leaves in the evening?

Or should I just change our flights to be out of Vancouver.
