I am just beginning our itinerary planning and I think I may have made mistake. Recommendations would be appreciated! :surfweb:

We are arriving very late in Orlando after an all day travel. We are staying for 12 days and have the 10 day Park Hopper pass. So here is my query. I planned spending the first day at MK because I just don't think I can be there and not go. The second day is a planned day off to pick up the rental car and go do some shopping for stuff ( snacks/water/beer ) and relax in the pool. We are staying Off-site at the Embassy Suites (I know, but I booked on impulse when planning a cheaper trip elsewhere and couldn't resist going to WDW, but this was all I can afford) (Darn Disney advertising, now my holiday is twice as expensive!). So, now that I am actually doing some research Thanks DIS!), It sounds like Saturday might be the better day to start at MK should I change car rental to a day earlier and take the first day off. It'll kill me being that close and not going but seems it may be the smarter thing to do with crowds and lines etc.

Any opinions?

Thanks DIS'rs :thumbsup2

:earsboy: WELCOME to the DIS benamin! :earsboy:

Personally I wouldn't have the first day a rest day! I couldn't stand to be that close and not go either! Also you're going to be there for 10 days. You'll have PLENTY of time to go back to the MK if it becomes too crowded for you that first day! Be sure to get an EARLY start, you should beat some of the crowd that way and can leave when it gets too bad.

Have a wonderful trip!

Thanks Baloo!
I guess i shouldn't second guess. I'm spending years worth of savings for this so I want it to go well.

Thanks again

Welcome to the dis :) I agree... I couldn't be that close and not go to the MK!! We just spent 10 nights there end of April beginning of May. I planned for 2 days at MK, 2 days at Epcot, one day for MGM, one day AK, and a day each for the waterparks...a day for Disney Qwest... and a day for whatever you want... ok, one day ds got sick so it was at the hotel. Gotta spend some time at DTD shopping... I know planning a big trip like this can be overwhelming. I found what days each park had least attendance and planned it that way. then made our adr's around that. took an itinerary w/all our adr #'s on it. Good luck planning :thumbsup2 your family will love it!
