I just got an instant message from a friend of mine this morning that said something to the effect of:

"Can you nose around and check out what a Disney trip would cost for us for July" ?

:eek:

I've told him on a number of occasions that they need to plan this stuff *WAY* out. Firstly their short at CRT ressies will be blown completely for that period, plus the rain in July plus temperatures won't be exactly good. Does anyone here concur?

Anyway, if they insist, what sort of hotel would be good for them to stay at? There is 5 of them 2 adults, 3 kids. I was thinking a deluxe type room or two adjoining rooms. Does anyone have thoughts on this? Possibly connecting rooms at the WL ?? :confused:

I'm just so worried that since this would potentially be their first trip to WDW, planning it so late in the game for the middle of summer they're either going to deal with torrential downpours, or searing heat. Plus, there's the whole issue of airfares, etc.

So, can anyone tell me if you think I should advise them against it, or not?? Or what sort of hotel would you pick for this group? The kids are 9, 7, and 5.

Thanks

Right now for the month of June,Song is offering very low fares.
For me Connecticut to MCO is $59.oo each way!!
Not sure about July though, but check www.flysong.com or even Southwest airlines for the lowest rates.

As far as Hotels, we are using the 7 for 5 DM pachage for standard view at AKL for just under $2K.
I'm not sure, though,if the room there will hold five.:confused:

I would politely say that is something they should check into themselves. They need to decide for themselves what kind of room they want-there would be a big variance in price and what they get. Provide some good websites and let them do the work.

We always go in Summer...either June or July. I am from Georgia though and used to the heat. In summer there is always the threat of afternoon thunder storms but these come and go. It is hot but not unbearable to me. My opinion is that you go when you can. The oldest kid here is 9 and there are not many more years for the "magic" to be as intense. As far as whether they will be as addicted to the place as you are, I would say that they would get that in July or December or wahtever month they go. They will love it for what it is especially if they know what to expect and educate themselves in the planning process. The time frame is tight but it can be done. After all they have you to help. Prepare them for the fact that it will be hot and the storms may come in the afternoon but the rain and thunder will go away after about an hour or so and makes for a goods break in the day. I would suggest top thjem to go as late in July as possible and possibly in the first part of August. Crowds will be less. POR may the best bet as far as lodging.

I would check to see if you can get them into POR. I think they can get 5 into a room because they have trundle beds. You might be able to get them the 5 plus two package as well which comes with the Dreammaker basic. That's what I would try to do anyway. No it's not a deluxe resort but I've heard it's quite nice.

We always go in July because I'm a teacher and that's when I can get away. We don't mind it. The rains are refreshing and they seldom last long.
Good Luck! --Renee::MinnieMo

I have Old Key West 7/17-7/24 which I can't use and is transferable. It is a two bedroom with full kitchen which is great for kids. If your interested let me know.
