HI! My friend "Hello" and I are headed to WDW with my B/f in October of 2003. She is over whelmed by inofrmtaion and not sure what the packing essentials are. Can anyone offer any help for not over packing? What are the WDW basics....

Thanks,
melissa

Disnee Dad Says.............................................................. Pack light. As a family of three we have never had to check baggage, until our next trip, in TWO DAYS!! Wash clothes, meaning you never need to bring more than four days worth. October can hit mid 80's, so look for a couple T-shirts. A pair of pants, a pair of shorts. One light weight jacket for when/if the night time temperatures gets down to 50.

WOW. Thanks for the advice. I know packing light is important. However, my B/F and I have only been to WDW during the warm summer months when it's crucial to keep cool. My friend has not been except to Magic Kingdom for a day. So, she has never experienced WDW. So, we all need advice on packing for October.

Do you think that 4-6 outfits is enough for 8 days? I don't want to spend a ton of time washing clothes. Any suggestions.

Thanks to all the wonderful DISers!!

Melissa

That disnee dad is pretty smart. I do the exact same thing. We pack enough to get through half of our trip and then do laundry. I even have enough laundry samples that I won't have to pack a large container and have to lug it back home. I take a laundry bag and we keep our dirty stuff in it and then I just carry it to the laundry room in our hotel. For October I would still pack for warm weather and have a light jacket and a pair or two of jeans for and unexpected cool weather. Have a wonderful trip.

Pack a pant (I realy don't know what to call one pants! ), a light jacket, and a hat. I was @ WDW in October once and that was what we needed. Also, tell your friends that the Internation Food and Wine Festival is at Epcot then! Plus, pack a colapsable carry-on bag for souviners. Bring a Brita Fill-N-Go (or something like that) and an extra filter to the parks. We used one and saved at least $40 off water and soda. Plus, it tastes better than the water fountains. Always carry a pen, you never know when you need one (character signatures, checks, and to write on the map to say what your favorite attractions are and what you want to see and when.) Pack some extra socks incase it rains (and some pancho's to, because when you don't pack them, it's going to rain!) and to wear on a cold day. One word, G-U-M, when you chew, you don't spend money on the disney food!

Hope that helped! If they have kids I also have some things they might like...

Pack light. Only bring what is needed, and wash once or twice
for an extended trip. October is still warm, so not to many cold wheater clothes.
Also, pack a extra duffel bag for things to bring home
