Hi! I'm going to disney world with my school band. I'll be going to the parks with mostly 13 year olds. We are going to spend 3 days there. A full day at Mk and MgM and a half day at AK and Epcot. What attractions do you think i should go on. What planning do you think i should do for this. This is my first trip to WDW and i have been dreaming about going all my life, Any random tips, advice, facts, would be appreciated.

)v( I'd like to know anything and eerything about WDW. Please give me some good tips. like, How much time should i allow for each attraction? What stuff should i bring? What clothes should i wear? Where can I leave my stuff when i get on a ride? Also, tel me about your trips!

Welcome to the Boards

theres so much at the world u could do so you'll defenitly have a good time.
In MK theres space, splash and big thunder mountain
In MGM theres Rockin Rollar coaster and Tower of terror
In ANIMAL KINGDOM theres Dionosaur and i foget the others
In EPCOT theres Mission space and Test track

the rides i just listed are my personal favorite
if you want more information on these rides then ask on the DIS n someone should know the answer to it
have fun on your trip

Could you give one vital peice of info? WHEN are you going? This is important in us helping you pick out what to wear :)

My top ride picks would be:
MK-Pirates of the Carribean-its a fun boat ride with a little dip!
-Big Thunder Mountain Railroad-A pretty tame roller coaster that is great for people like me who are afraid of roller coasters! It's fast, bumpy, and fun!

MGM-Rock n Rollercoater-Set to the music of Aerosmith, you get blasted through a coaster entirely in the dark, with glowing scenery, theres a few loops, but no big hills.
-Star Tours-Classic ride, great if you like Star Wars, its a simulation ride-youre in a room where the chairs move and you watch a screen, it feels like youre moving.

Epcot-Test Track-takes you through the standard testing which vehicles undergo, finishing off with a high speed loop around the "track" The "car" has no roof-so it's fun to feel the wind rush over you.

Animal Kingdom-Don't miss Dinosaur! it's a little hard to describe, but it's a lot of fun :)

Not sure what kind of stuff you'll have with you, but many of the rides have pouches in front of the seats where you can put things like a book bag. Other rides, like Haunted Mansion, you can simply lay it on the floor or on the seat next to you-it moves slow, so you wont lose anything. Try not to bring a lot though. Last time I went, all me and my boyfriend brought into parks was a camera and our tickets/room keys (however, you will need money if your plan is not all inclusive).

As far as timing between rides, and what to wear-it really depends on when you're going, as crowds vary by the time of year.

I'd love to answer any other questions you might have, I have been to WDW at leat 15 times, and 3 times last year alone :)
I have gone with my family many times, and twice with my boyfriend. Drop me a PM if you want more info-or simply post your request here :)

Sorry! I forgot that! I'm going in early april. thank-you to all the people who have offered help.

Honestly, I'm not sure if any schools are doing spring break that week, but it's extremely possible, since Easter is the 11th. You can probably expect crowds-and longer wait times on major attractions. The rides post the expected wait time, and there are boards where you can check the times before you even get to the ride itself!!!
This is a good reason for Fast Pass. If you don't know what that is, most of the major rides that tend to build up a line have machines out front. You put your ticket in the machine and it will print out a slip of paper, and return your ticket. The paper will give you a window of time that you should return to the ride. You go back at that time WITH the paper, and stand in the line specially reserved for Fast Pass. The wait from there is usually about 5 minutes! So while you wait for your window, you can go on other rides with smaller wait times, eat, whatever you want!
I'm not sure the average temp. for April-but it should be warm. I have a few guide books which tell averages, but I have to find them! Beginning two weeks before your trip, go to Accuweather.com, they have a 2-week forcast! Just enter "Orlando" or "Kissimmee" into the search feild and you'll get a forecast-but check back frequently as it probably will change a little! That should help you plan what to wear-it also gives nightly forecasts so you'll know if you should bring some sweatshirts! If you see rain in the forecast for every day-don't get too upset. I the spring and summer, it tends to rain pretty much every day in Florida! But don't worry, the "Storms" usually only last about 1/2 hour, and while they're going, a lot of people are afraid of rain, so you can hit up a lot of rides without a line!
But I do advise bringing a poncho, so you don't get soaking wet like I have every time I haven't brought one! If you want a souvenier, you can get a yellow Mickey one in the parks.
Finally-if you don't care much for parades-that's a great time to do popular rides!
Need any more info?

I don't know if i'll bring a poncho because i don't want to have too much stuff to carry and I don't mind getting wet .(i went to dollywood last year and it was raining while i was there. I went on a ride called daredevil falls, which is about the same as splash mountain. I guess everyone was scared of the rain beacuse there was no line so i got to stay on that ride as many times as i wanted to!)My friend went on the band trip last year at pretty much the same time and he said it wasn't very crowded. which i thought was pretty stange since it ws spring break. we're staying in the parks the entire time they are open except for the half-day at AK and Epcot. so we'll probably be in the park around 5.5 hours for those 2 parks and between 10-14 hours for the others. How many rides and attractions do you think we could see and do?As a group we already defiantely have to go on the safari at AK first thing in the morning, have a music workshop at epcot, see fantasmic, go out to dinner one night at Medieval Times, and go to downtown disney one night. Also, we might see illuminations, i'm not sure.

How long would it take me to do everything in one of the parks using fastpass? also, what are some rides with not much wait I can do while waiting for my fastpass time?

Honestly, wait times vary day by day, so I can't really give a reliable estimate. But don't try to over plan-you'll get exhausted and won't have fun, just take it as it comes! Plan your must-do's and work around that! This way if you don't get to do EVERYTHING, you won't be dissapointed.
As far as good "in between" things, food is one good thing to do while waiting. Since you have limited time, try to make Priority Seating reservations at restaurants you really want to try! Maybe just one or two sit down meals a day, and do counter service for other meals? For rides, I'd say to try:
Magic Kingdom-the former "people mover" which is now called the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. It's basically just a fun way to pass time. It's open aired carts that take you around some of Tomorrowlands attractions, you go around Space Mountain and can see the ride operating, and some other stuff. The line is constantly moving, so you'll probably wait 5 minutes tops. I can't really think of many others now, but like I said, there is a board in every park that posts wait times-so if they're under your wait time you're good.
I should explain Fast Pass a little better though-When you put your ticket in, you will not have a specific time from when you put it in. For example if you put it in at 10, you are not always going to get a return time of 12-1...It will vary depending on how many people get the Fast Passes, so get your must do ride early on!
The other parks have short wait time rides too-Spaceship Earth in Epcot is generally a short wait. There are also shows you can see at set times.

Our band director has already told us what we're doing for meals in the park. we get one meal voucher(i don't completely understand what that is) a day. He says the breakfast we have before coming to the park and that will be more than enough to eat. I'm pretty sure I understand fast passes. if i don't i can just ask friends who have been on the trip before. I'm not asking them all these questions because I don't want to bore and annoy them with constant disney talk. That's what your here for!:teeth:

r u staying at a disney resort?

and when ur in the parks if ur bringing a backpack you should put a pair of sandle in it cuz when it rains it rains alot and it took my shoes two days to dry once so now i bring sandles for when it starts to rain and then put my sneakers in the back pack and for wut to wear it should be pretty warm cuz ive been there in December and it was 60-80 degrees so you could wear shorts but i would pack a jacket and some pants if your going out at night

I'm staying off-site. oh, as for another thing we HAVE to do, my band director made the kids on the trip ride dumbo last year and i guess he might this year too.And i'll probably ride test track without a fastpass because i'll probably get to get on that ride without a line. my principal has connections.:smooth:

i recommend buying the birnbaum's 2004 book. it's VERY helpful and recommends all the great rides. i say check out the major ones, the well known ones, they definitely are the best. but the little lesser known things can be fun too, obviously.

I have found out that we are not going to downtown disney, and we will only being stayng in MgM until 5:45 PM. A reminder: half day at epcot, half day at AK, full day at MK, and staying until 5:45 at Mgm. I'm not sure anymore if we will be seeing fantasmic. please give more replies!
