Help, Going to WDW in 2 weeks on a shoestring budget and need advice. I have three Little People (8, 7, & 5) who are about to bust with excitement and I need to find a way to let them experience pin trading. We have had friends tell us that this was so much fun for their Kids and we must do it. So, how can I get some of these pins CHEAP and how many do I need? Can I buy them offsite or before I leave home somewhere?

Go to cheappins.com. You'll find many you can trade with CMs for very good prices. Buy as many as you think you'll trade. You may even find several so pretty that you'll want to keep!
If you intend to let it be their activity, let them choose their tradables. Remind them that what they choose to trade, they should not get attached to. They'll have a blast, my little boy loved it.

A friendly advice and reminder though, from a parent to a parent: If you are thinking about encouraging a safe, sure investment activity for their future, buy stocks instead ;)

Visit as many of your local Hallmark Stores as possible & see if they have any pin pairs (Mickey & Minnie &/or Pooh & Piglet) &/or the Classic Pooh seires of pins (look like postage stamps). These pins are tradeable at WDW.

My boys are 6 & 10. They love pin trading. We get our traders on ebay. If you watch and wait, you can usually get them at about $3 each. I wait for 3 pins for $9 no shipping. Be careful if you are bidding on pins with shipping because that can add up fast. Another idea is to stop at Beltz outlet on international drive to get Disney pins. They often have them for $3 or 4 each. cheappins.com has traders for under $4.

The kids should start out trading with the CM's. They have to trade as long as they don't already have that pin on their lanyard. That way the kid's won't get disappointed if they want a limited edition for their rack pin and the trader won't go for it. And, it doesn't matter how good your traders because a CM doesn't care what you are trading.

The kids will love it. It can also help pass time in lines if others around you have lanyards as well. Have fun.
