I'm having a real problem getting started on my first baby's scrapbook all because I don't really know what to do that very first page in. I want to put his very first ultrasound picture on that page but can't think of a title or theme. I know after the first page I'm going to put all the other ultrasound pictures showing that "it's a boy" and then move on to like baby shower pictures and pictures of his first house and his room but I am stuck on that first page. What have some of you guys done for your baby's first page? Any ideas on what I can do?

what about something like
The best is yet to come?

Under construction...then use the colors black and yellow and maybe some Tonka toy stickers or die cuts. Construction signs

Or Anticipation....

Look! Already a camera star. First Portrait.

Or you could do a guessing page! Boy or Girl? Only Time will tell! and then put in journaling boxes all the silly and funny things people would say when guessing the sex or quote the people who say you are having a girl. If some one does the string test on you save the string and put a pretend ring on the end and what the "outcome" was!
Congradulations! You are so wise to start now...If only I knew! Enjoy this wonderful time!

I have nothing to add. Spinning's ideas are GREAT!! and along the ideas I had.
I stressed for almost a year on how to start my first child's book(she was 7 at the time) but once I got started it went pretty quick.
The second child was easier to get started. I've really enjoyed looking back through the baby stuff now that they are older, but I wish I had done it when they were babies. Maybe I'd be caught up by now!! LOL!!:p

I LOVE "the best is yet to come" idea!! And now I'm torn between my ultrasound pages being "under construction" or "womb with a view" I'm going to try to keep up to date the best I can. I figure those 8 (very short) weeks I'm on maternity leave I can scrap my little heart out (because all babies do is sleep, right?!? Ha, Ha) Thanks for all your ideas! You have just the kind of mind I've needed! I knew I would find answers here!

I started the first page of my twin dds' books with a letter I wrote to them after I discovered I was having twins - at 26 weeks!

Maybe you could include how you felt when you found out you were expecting, or when you heard the heartbeat, saw the ultrasound, etc. When my daughters read the letter I wrote, (they are now 8) they know exactly how excited, and scared, I was.

On my son's first page of his album, I took pages of him at all different ages with all his relatives and cropped them into circles. I then made a tree and matted the pictures to look like apples. I titled "Jacob-the apple of our eye." Pretty dorky, but I liked looking at all the pictures of Jacob going from newborn to one year old toddler.

On my daughter's sonogram page, I paper pieced a teddy bear with his hands over his face. At the bottom, I put the same bear, arms extended. At the top, "Peek a Boo." At the bottom, "We See You!"

I scraplifted that idea from Creating Keepsakes "The Big Idea Book of Baby Memories." Some other titles for sonogram pages are "A Womb With a View" and "Me and My Big Idea" (with a picture of the pregnant mother and the sonogram), "A Sneak Peek" and "You've got the Cutest Little Baby Face" (with the parents' profiled silhouette on the background and the profile sonogram picture on top).

A quote in the book that I found precious is:

Never forget for a single minute,
You didn't grow under my heart,
But in it.
-Unknown

Hopes this helps.

I really appreciate all the ideas. I have ordered that Baby Memories book (off ebay for $10!) because I saw it in a store and loved the ideas in it. I like the idea of all the different pictures on the front page - I've seen that before in someone's book and have since bought the big square punch so I can do that one day. Unfortunately (for that idea) I haven't even had my baby yet (5 weeks and counting!!!) so all I have to work with are the ultrasound pics. I finally decided on the "the best is yet to come" for the first page with the first ultrasound we got underneath the title and then I journaled about when we found out and our first doctor's visit. Who knows if that will stay the same through the years. My next 2 pages (I always do 2 page layouts) have the "under construction" theme with the title being "Caution.....God at work" and put all kinds of construction stickers on it with the poem "I am Not Alone" for my journaling. I'm definately going to have to find room for that quote somewhere. I love that!!!! Thanks again!!
