So, today is 190 days until we check in (180 plus 10). We check in 08/04. I am not able to make reservations either online or when I call in. The CM on the phone says "you can go ahead and make them today as you are 180 plus 10 out from your check in date" but the system would not let her. Can somebody please help me figure out when my day is to make dining reservations. Am I wrong that today is the day? HELP!

Thanks :)

i believe it is 180 days and if u stay onsite u can book up to 10 days after your checkin date

You've got 10 more days.
It's 180 days from your check-in date, plus the next 10 days (so every day after your check in date you get to make ressies before off-site people).

Thanks all! You would think after this being the 4th year in a row for this, I would remember how it works. Good thing I only need 2 ADRs this trip as we are going to have a lazy, not rush around to an ADR kind of vacation! Thanks again!

The CM is incorrect in her interpretation of "180+10". It's a common mistake.

180+10 does not mean 190 days from check in.

It means that, at 180 days from your check in, you can make ADR's for THAT day + 10 days from your date of check in .

IE: At 180 days from your check in date, you cam make ADR's for 8/4 - 8/14, rather than JUST 8/4.

Hope that helps.

There's a GREAT ADR calculator right here:

Thank you so much for clarifying this. When I read this thread, I was really scratching my head :confused3 wondering what that meant but you giving the date examples was great - got it :thumbsup2

This is a nice perk if staying on-site to be able to make all your ressie's 180 prior to your arrival date for your entire trip (if 10 days or less) rather than having to call every day for 10 days to complete your ressies :woohoo: I don't recall this being the case when we went in 2010.

Now the age old problem remains, where does one want to eat 6 months prior to going on vacation :rotfl:

Honestly, it's not all that hard for us...but we've been there so many times, now, that we've sort of established a "rotation" with a couple of changes each trip.

It's made easier by the fact that I avoid Early Entry parks (and, if possible, Extra Magic Hour parks in general) like the plague. Disney's made it pretty easy to figure out (because they haven't made changes in awhile) which parks those are going to be, in advance.

Also...nobody in our party is a picky eater...and nobody has food allergies/diet restrictions. We're lucky in that.

So I can put together a quasi-park schedule pretty far (10+ months) in advance..look at our old favorites list...and make a pretty decent guesstimate about where we'll be eating (especially the more popular places) far enough in advance.

But we're planners...and not everyone wants to have to do that 6, 7,8, 9 months out from their trips.
