I'm on the phone with a CM trying to book 3 rooms at a value for Sept 7 & 8 (Night of Joy) and she says that I have to book all 3 rooms on separate reservations. Is this right?

Darn. That seems weird. So when people go who are a family of 5 and they need 2 rooms, they have to book 2 reservations?

I don't know about if it is just one family but I booked two rooms last spring break, one for me and family and one for my brother and his family and they made me book two reservations. And then she would not send his confirmation to me she had to send it to him even though both room deposits were on my credit card, go figure .

Well, I'm booking a group that isn't 10, so I figured I would just call the regular reservation line. I ended up telling her I'd call back, because something just didn't seem right. Do you think I ought to call the group line and see what they can do?

ETA: Ok, so I called the group line and they can only do rooms if I'm booking 10 or more rooms.
Anyway, I'll call back later and book the 3 rooms, but only give them my address. What? There really are 7 adults with different names living in one house! lol.

My understanding is that the only time that you have to make 3 seperate reservations is when you want the reservations in different names. I just booked 2 rooms at a value for my family of 6, requested adjoining rooms for the kids(no guarantee????) and explained that we have 4 kids and 2 adults, they took my reservations fine but they were all in the one name as one bill. booking 2 rooms is still less expensive than getting one of the family suites. So i'm happy. I just really hope we get adjoining rooms like we did in 2000.

Maybe that is what they did for me, but just did it without telling me . I just know that it worked!

Disney requires that each room be booked as its own reservation with CORRECT address information for each separate household that is represented except under very specific circumstances. The specific circumstances to book more than one room on a single reservation are generally that there are 2 or fewer adults from the same address in the party with more children than will fit into a single room but even then it is still preferred by Disney to book as 2 separate reservations. There may be a few other isolated circumstances but that would be something Disney could tell you. Also, to knowingly book multiple rooms on a single reservation when it doesn't meet the requirements will seriously jeopardize the CM's job and I can't imagine that most DISers would want to do that. Even if you say that all the adults live at the same address each room will be booked as a separate reservation. The only thing that will do is double or triple the time it takes you to check in as the front desk CMs will have to correct all the address information for the adults that DON'T live at your address when you get there.

If this is still a problem for you you might want to book through a Travel Agent. You'd still get separate reservations but you wouldn't have to provide address information for everyone.
