Help ~ Fancy dress for a non slim lady!

Hullo,

Against my better judgement I am having a fancy dress party for my next birthday two weeks on Friday and I don't have a costume.

I have an idea, caveman/woman (grotty hair, tiger print smock (which I don't actually have!), barefeet (which I do have!) a rope belt and a fake bone in my hair ala Pebbles) but this just doesn't seem good enough iykwim.

I know when were all together as a group eveyone will look fabulous but does anyone have any suggestions or ideas to help me along, any homemade costumes you've made (cheaply) and looked fab/original?

There is no theme as I didn't want to make it harder on anyone than it already is!

I actually like your cavewoman idea
My friend did it once - and completely homemade. I'll see if i can find a photo...
She bought some leopard print furry fabric cheap from a fabric shop and made a sort of dress out of it. She wore shorts and t shirt underneath just so she felt "dressed"
Lots of backcombing for grotty hair like you said and you're sorted. She also got some great bone jewellery from a local fancy dress shop. All in all, it looked fab

Now i'm thinking about it practicially i've had a look and on ebay there's a lot of nice animal print fabric, a lime green/black zebra one caught my eye and also a caveman accessory pack so I think I might stick with this and get a pair of black leggings to go underneath.
