Ok, here's the deal. We try to go to disney every 2yrs. We've only been 2x's so far, but we are addicted. SO, we were planning on going in April/May of 2007. BUT, we have just seen the dining deal and it's awesome! This is what we were planning...

If we go Sept 21-30(10days/9nights) and stay at Pop Century(we are 2 adults, 2 kids(will be 4.5yr old & 11mo old). With room, transport to/from hotel, airfare, dining plan, everything it would be $1900(without airfare about $1400)!!!

We got a wonderful deal 2yrs ago and paid about $1200 more than that for only 7days!

So, do we go the last week in Sept 2006 or do we wait until next year and hope another deal is this good? I got my dd's first haircut at Disney and it's important to me to have my ds's done there too, by next sept it'll be too long(he'll be nearly 2yrs). What's the chance they come out with this good of a deal for April/May? Do they do this every year?

I haven't ever seen a deal this cheap before and am worried that if we don't go now, we'll end up spending $1k more for less OR have to go for less days. 10 days would be AWESOME!

ANY advice is very much appreciated...Thanks!

I would say if you can afford to do it now - do it now.
Seize the day! :thumbsup2

I too was in similar predicament... we wanted to wait till december so it wasn't so hot... but when I was figuring it was over $1000 savings to go during free dining....

This offer prob won't be around then.... the DDP will be but prob not free dining... mousesavers.com has something on it somewhere with history of codes and such... here's a link http://www.mousesavers.com/faq.html#codetrends

I'd say go for the free dining... we decided to do it at the beginning so DS doesn't miss more than a few days of school... the first few when they don't have much homework

How good of a deal is this though? Compared to getting room/ticket discounts, etc? We usually eat at least one sit down meal per night that we are there...and this is 10 days! Wow! I don't want to make a wrong decision, but it's disney, can you make a wrong decision...lol

that is a awesome deal i would do it but do it soon so you book it and get res for dinning. it cost me 2000 for 2 of us for star wars weekend may 26-30 this year. man where did you get that deal from

Do it!!! If you can afford to do it now go for it... save the $$ and Try some disney restaurants too.

and if you are anything like me... I have never done a TS .. too expensive for my normal budget.... you'll be in heaven bieng able to have to eat McD's and IHOp every day :Pinkbounc

Do it now and have a great vacation.

LAst time we went we did a sit down meal every night of our trip, one per day, but otherwise we were sharing meals at counter service...lol So this would be AWESOME. My dh is telling me to book it... I'm a little nervous about it being so soon, but am excited! We're 90% sure... going to talk about it for a little while longer, weigh options and then book if we decide. I'll keep you guys updated! Thanks!

We were also not planning to go again till next year but decided to take advantage of the free dining and also a few school holidays ( so my kids miss fewer days) and go in Sept.- Oct.

They won't have free dining in April/May 2007. That's not a "down time" for Disney. Folks will be graduating, the end of spring breakers, beginning of summer crowds- Disney doesn't need to offer as big an incentive to fill their rooms/restaurants then! Free dining is offered in the Fall because Disney needs to attract more customers then- (back to school season, hurricane season, etc).

Go when it is cheaper....you never know what will be around the corner (good or bad)... true DIS'ers always find a way to go back!

It is also more crowded and the rates are higher in April/May, peak vs. value I believe. We moved our trip up with the free dining. We saved more than half when you could in the free dining plan! I say DO IT! And book before you don't have the option.

by moving your dates up 7 mo, you save over 1000.00. Is that savings just from the room, tickets etc or did you include the price of meals? If you didnt that would also add to the savings. if you can afford to go in Sept. go. If it was me, I would of booked the trip then posted how I was going to disney sooner then i thought...lol. Book before there is no rooms available when you want to go. :bounce:

GO NOW !!!!! That's exactly what happened to us! I took my 2 girls last October for free dining & their first MNSSHP. Planned on going for MVMCP in 2007.....BUT with free dining AGAIN we're back in October this year! I've got airfare, POP for 9 nights, DDP, Hoppers, all under $2k! I say go for it!

Ok, we've ran into a small problem, but still think we will do it. Our plane tickets(for 3 of us) were only going to be $477, but we would've had to drive 4hrs to get to that airport. We have decided against that(due to the timing of the flights, gas, etc) and tickets are now $815 for the 3 of us but the airport is right by our home, so no parking either and the convenience with kids that young of not having to drive. Anyway, so instead of total being around $2100(gas and everything), we are now looking at $2350. That's 10days/9nights at Pop with dining, flights, transport to/from airport, etc. Still worth it? I think so....What do you guys think?

it's only an additional 250.00. I would be packing my bags by now. (which happen to be the brand new disney suitcases that were on sale last week. thank you to the poster who alerted us to that sale). The airline you are going to fly with, do they run specials that after you book you might beable to get the flights cheaper? If not, it's still only 250.00 more. Still a good deal. :bounce:

yeah, that was including everything. We are now having to get other plane tickets and they will cost about $200 more than before. $2350 for 10days with dining, airfare still too good to pass up?

We'll make our decision tonight hopefully!

I think you are definitly asking these questions in the wrong place! LOL! We ALL say go for it if you can afford it!!!!!! :thumbsup2 Went on our 1st trip last May and figured we'd try to go every 2-3 years, well...going Aug for free dining!!!! I think the free dining is great for the TS-we only did 3 TS last trip, this time we are doing CRT and HoodDe Doo that both cost 2 credits. I know people say that it is not a wise use of the credits but it feels like we get to go to those places and try them out for FREE (we do!). We were going to do HoopDeeDo last year but $150 for 2Ad, 2Ch seemed too much. If we love it as much as others, we'll know it is worth it to pay for it next time.

Also, I totally agree to spend an additional $200 to fly closer to your home and not have to drive with 2 little ones.

Good luck in your decision! Be sure to post what you decide!
