My daughter is celebrating her sweet 16, she is bringing 2 friends to WDW. She would like to have her celebration dinner at the Poly Lua, but I tried to book it today and they have no reservations for a party of 6 to sit together. Now we are stuck....
She does not like the Hoop De Doo (go figure)..so we are looking for somewhere special. I like the Primetime....Any suggestions>>
Thanks  (we are going 6/29-7/5) I dont want to do anything on the 4th for obvious reasons...

Keep your eye on the luau..you never know someone might cancel.
What about another restaurant at the Poly such as Kona or O'hana. I could see why she might be dissapointed in not doing the Luau..Not to old not to young...

OOh what about Japan the teppanyaki restuarnt that could be lots of fun also.

Castle is alittle to babyish she said..and I thought about ohana for dinner. Never been there for dinner before, we did a breakfast years ago.
Japan was mentioned, but we have one of these restaurants right by our house, so it is common for her.
I am so bummed about the Lua...
:sad1:

depending on how nice you are wanting, i would suggest Citricos at GF. we just ate there for my friend's 21st birthday and it was amazing! we had a ressie for 6:20 that night at a window table (all the larger tables are around the outside of the restaurant. and with wishes at 8pm that night, it was so wonderful! the staff there are so great, they make sure you have a wonderful, relaxed meal and do not try to rush you out. it would be a great place to get a little dressed up -what girl doesn't like an excuse to put up a nice dress and make-up?

Narcosees would be very nice...schedule something around 7:30pmish and you can see the Electric Water Pagent. Take her photograph on the grand staircase at the Grand Floridian.

Coral Reef...maybe you can get a diver to go in the tank and hold a Sweet Sixteen sign up for her. I had this done for my dd8...to welcome her back to WDW...not sweet sixteen.:lmao:

I love the idea of dinner in the Castle...it is such a wonderful experience. But I can understand the "cool factor".:cool2:

There is also the Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian which is absolutely amazing and delicious!!!! You would need a reservation for this as well.

You can probably have a birthday cake delivered most anywhere and ask if there is anything super special than can be arranged...magical surprises are everywhere at WDW!!!:wizard:

Wow thanks for all the great suggestions. The Narcosses (?) in the GF sounds great and so does the Coral Reef. I will look into both of these. Any more? Keep them coming...you guys are great!:wizard:

I took DD and a friend to celebrate her 16th last April. They really enjoyed 50's Prime Time Cafe, Coral Reef, Tutto Italia and Planet Hollywood.
This year for her 17th bday she's taking a different friend, she insisted on Sci-Fi, Coral Reef, House of Blues and Teppan Edo. We are on the DxDP this time so they want character meals with Mickey, so we got the Garden Grill, and also Ohanas Lilo & Stitch breakfast.
We have tons more ADRs on top of those!!!

My teenage daughter suggested O'hana for dinner. They have a "Party" atmosphere and with all the servers coming by with the grilled meats she should get lots of attention for her birthday!

I suggest two things: ONE: keep calling the Luau to check for cancellations. Call twice a day...once in the am and once in the pm. Someone is bound to cancel. TWO: Get reservations at the California Grill where you can have a great view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks show. We have not done this but hear it is great!

Well I think Ohana is the winner. Calling tomorrow to make ressies for 6. Hopefully getting a table by the window late, so we can see Wishes.
My daughter needs to give the final approval. I will make sure to tell the restaurant it is her sweet 16...Now, just gotta pay for all this...LOL still cheaper than a party...
