We booked, on the day cabins went up for sale, for the CA to FL repositioning. At 20 after 10am pst, I was one of the earllier people to book. The CM was quick to take the ressie, not asking me where I wanted to be on the ship or what dining I wanted or anything like that. I did chime in and get cabin assignments, but that was about it. It was only after I pulled up my ressie on DCL.com the next day, that I realized they'd split my family up in the dining seatings. There are 8 of us traveling together as a family and they have 6 on the early seating and 2 on the late. I don't know how they missed this, but when I transferred my ressie over to DU, I asked them to fix it for me. DCL, apparently couldn't do anything about it and 2 of us are listed as being on "waitlist" for the early seating. It would be horrible if our family went all out to go together on this cruise and didn't even get to eat together...not even in the same diningroom at the same time...nor see the shows together...I just dont' get how DCL could allow this to happen. My DU suggested maybe trying to switch the rest of the party to the late, but the problem is, we have two small kids traveling with us and 8pm is just too late for them to eat. They are used to eating at 5! What can I do!? Has anyone had this happen and how much luck have you had with the "waitlist" and getting what you really want.
HELP!
Thanx

Hi,

If your DU agent isn't able to make sure you all have the early seating together..then...when your board the ship there will be a place for you to go to change your dinner seatings.

Go there, and be persistant. I think disney will come through for you in the end.

Those first days of ressies at DCL was very chaotic...I can easily see how a mistake could have been made. I would not worry though....DCL is very good about fixing things and at least it is only 2 people waitlisted...not the the six.

Don't dismiss late seating so quickly....we have sailed DCL 10 times and always had late seating. We have had very young children with us and it was never a problem. There are many food options available and a late afternoon nap and food from room service will definately tide you over until 8:30 pm. Remember...vacations are a chance to break routine!!

We still have well over a year before that cruise so I would think DCL could accomodate you before sailing....if not....just ask at the dining changes location once you board.

Hope it all works out for you.

I and my sister have both been sucessful changing our seating as soon as we boarded the ship, on different cruises. They are located in Wavebands near the tables for the Palo ressies. You shouldn't have any problem if you board early enough. Good luck.

DON'T SWEAT IT!!!! It is so far out, so many of the reservations are going to change between now & then. Lots of people will reconsider their plans, jobs will change, people will move, women will get pregnant, illnesses will occur, vacation time might not be available etc etc etc. We all know that the final payment date is when things really change. I would just call back (or ask DU to do so) to check on the reservation every now and again & see if they have adjusted the seating time. Who knows, between now & then, your kids might be eating at a later hour and the 8 PM time might not be so bad. (BTW, I have had late dining more than early, with kids and it is not so bad)

I wouldn't worry about it - we've still got 15 months before the cruise, and you're probably fairly close to the top of that waitlist I'm sure you'll have early dining before you board the ship.

I just checked the disneycruise line site for CA to FL cruise and if I accept the conditions, it asks me which dining I want - early or late. I know in the past if early was not available it would not show up. Unless the web site has changed early seating is available for this cruise. Maybe your TA could ask them about it. Good luck.

you know, by the time the cruise reaches florida, 5pm will be 8pm. timezonewise. ;)

Truly, I wouldn't worry about this. When you have a "travel with" situation like that, and the majority are in first dining, you have an extremely good chance that everyone will have first dining.

I just checked the disneycruise line site for CA to FL cruise and if I accept the conditions, it asks me which dining I want - early or late.

If you had gone further in the booking process, you would have been told that the dining that you selected wasn't available.
