Help! Difference between Value and Moderate Resorts

I'm thinking that outside the magical world they would line up like this:

Value = Motel 6/Super 8
Moderate = Best Western/Holiday Inn
Deluxe = Marriot/Hilton

Fair comparison? I honestly don't know, just a thought.....

My thoughts are that a Value room is more equal to a room at a Comfort Inn in quality.
But when you compare the amenties of the Disney Value Resort vs.offsite hotels there is no comparision.

To me Disney's value resorts are a total bargain. We get so many perks (Disney themeing, Disney transportation, and EMH)
Any of Disney's resort guests (even those staying at a value or mod) are allowed to shop, dine, rent the watercraft, use the transportation or spa facilities at any of the Disney Resorts. (Of course pool hopping is not allowed.)

Disney does charge a premium price for their Deluxe resorts.
Deluxe guests are paying for location and amenities not for stellar customer service.
Many guests are disappointed because they think the GF is a 5 star hotel.
They expect the service of a 5 star and are disappointed when their expectations are not met.
It is in no way near a 5 star hotel even though it costs as much as many 5 star hotels.
The GF is rated 4 diamonds by AAA but most sites rate it as 3 and a half.
The Poly and CR are usually considered 3 star hotels.

Just my 2 cents.

I'd say that's pretty close, although value I think is closer to a Fairfield by Marriott which are generally a little cleaner than your average Motel 6/Super 8.

I also don't like to use Best Westerns and Holidays Inns as comparisions, because they can run from horrid to very nice. I've stayed in Best Westerns and Holiday Inns where the Fairfield Inn down the street looked cleaner and nicer, and I've stayed in them that were as nice as an average Hilton. I'd compare the moderates to a Hapmton Inn or COurtyard by Marriott, which are a little more consistent.

I think for the deluxes you nailed it.

JMHO.

I completely disagree. Hve you stayed at the DTD Hilton? It's a very nice hotel, walking distance to DTD, spacious bright rooms, a variety of restaurants, a nice pool area, and a lot more services and amenities than the values have including mini-fridges, micorwaves, bathrobes, high quality linens, queen beds, the list goes on.

The last time we stayed there, our room cost less than WDW was asking for a value room on the same date.

I am a die hard fan of the CBR. The Guest Service Department there is top notch without a doubt. They can answer any question you could possibly think of! LOL I've stayed there with my best friends quite a few times and have had very few complaints. Those that I have had were taken care of within a very reasonable time frame. (Example- Nosy neighbors on our last trip were SILENT after being warned they needed to keep it down) I really enjoy eating at Port Royal and shopping there as well. I've never eaten at Shutters in Port Royal but the counterservice is fantastic. The pool are very well lighted (even very late at night) and mousekeeping is also very good. I can't say enough good things about this resort! Oh one more thing I forgot. The bell service at this resort is also sooo nice. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the parks and the resort itself. If you enjoy outdoor activities I suggest renting a bike and going for a ride around the place, or a two seater bike! Have fun with whatever you choose! :cutie:
