I found this Red Velvet Trifle recipe via a Google search, but I need specifics when I'm baking. I don't "wing it" very well.

Here goes

1. Red Velvet Cake cooked in the bar pan with chocolate chips mixed in for the base - Question is - just a bag of Nestle Toll House semi chocolate chips mixed in the batter and baked?

2. Next layer is cheesecake pudding mixed with cream cheese. Question is - just a box of jello instant cheesecake flavor pudding (prepared as directed??) and then mixed with a bar of cream cheese?

3. Then a layer of chopped chocolates - OK, I think this is easy enough. Find a good chocolate and chop it up? (Recipe says "I think they were the Nestle Treasurer - dark chocolate truffle ones")

4. Then a layer of Cool Whip - this I can handle

5. Repeat and sprinkle top with red and green Christmas sprinkles or drizzle chocolate on parchment paper, cool and place decoration on top...also tie a Christmas ribbon around your trifle bowl for decoration...

Any help will be much appreciated. I'd like to serve this for Christmas for dessert :)

1. Red Velvet Cake cooked in the bar pan with chocolate chips mixed in for the base - Question is - just a bag of Nestle Toll House semi chocolate chips mixed in the batter and baked? That's what I would do

2. Next layer is cheesecake pudding mixed with cream cheese. Question is - just a box of jello instant cheesecake flavor pudding (prepared as directed??) and then mixed with a bar of cream cheese? Yes, exactly. Let the Cream Cheese soften on the counter for a while so it will be easier to mix

3. Then a layer of chopped chocolates - OK, I think this is easy enough. Find a good chocolate and chop it up? (Recipe says "I think they were the Nestle Treasurer - dark chocolate truffle ones") Yep. Just cut them up with a big knife

4. Then a layer of Cool Whip - this I can handle

5. Repeat and sprinkle top with red and green Christmas sprinkles or drizzle chocolate on parchment paper, cool and place decoration on top...also tie a Christmas ribbon around your trifle bowl for decoration... Layer it like you would a lasagna, more cake, more topping, more chocolate, more coolwhip. Toss some sprinkles or something else pretty looking over the top.

Trifle is a great thing to make if you're not a great cook, it's mostly a matter of assembly, and its very forgiving. Keep in mind that if you don't want to bake the cake yourself, you can just buy one at the bakery and cut that up instead. :thumbsup2

That's what I would think -- I was curious, so I had to go do a search, but it looks like that's what the person meant.

2. Next layer is cheesecake pudding mixed with cream cheese. Question is - just a box of jello instant cheesecake flavor pudding (prepared as directed??) and then mixed with a bar of cream cheese?

Later on, the person says, "Pudding is one big box of cheesecake pudding or 2 small ones mixed with 8 oz. of cream cheese..."

I think this is where the original directions came from:

If you scroll down, she explains a little more in detail the directions.

Looks yummy -- hope it works out for you!

Thanks. I didn't scroll down that far.
