We are hoping be at WDW this spring for 10 nights. Currently have reservations at Caribbean Beach and Shades of Green, but also thinking about Cabins at Fort Wilderness. We stayed at CBR last visit and have not stayed at SOG or Cabins. It will be two adults and 3 young kids (under 10). We enjoyed our stay at CBR, though didn't spend much time at the resort. (I packed our days full.) This trip will be more relaxed, so expecting a little more resort time. We will have a car, but are open to disney transport, including Skyliner. Price will be about 1k difference between each, SoG < CBR < Cabins. Thoughts?

The cabin has a kitchen, which might come in handy for those resort-only days. And FW has a lot of recreational options to fill your day during non-COVID times. They’ve been reduced just like at all of the resorts. But having a separate room to put the kids down for the night and the ability to prepare a few meals in your cabin might just make a FW cabin worth the extra bucks. Ten days with 5 people in a hotel room doesn’t sound pleasant to me, so the cabin gets my vote even though it costs more.

I’d look at a CBR/MK area split. That way you can Skyliner and have quick access to MK. (No opinion on SoG v. FW, unfortunately I have stayed in neither.)

Yes the kitchen, separate bedroom, and extra space in general are the appeal. Do you have the entire cabin or is it split into two units? Hard to tell from the images.

Have considered split stay, but not sure I want to pack up and move mid trip. Also with 5 there are less options on single rooms. Will consider, though. Currently have park res rotating between parks rather than keeping Ep or MK days grouped together. We have a car, so if we take disney transport will be just for the experience.

Suffering from some major FOMO here. Not sure if I want to commit to the more than double cost for Cabins, so was searching priceline/hotwire. Now also considering Wyndham Bonnet Creek, which has a 2 bedroom for about the same cost as SoG. Thoughts?

One thing I will have to determine is if this impacts the Stars & Stripes tickets I already have, which require onsite resort stay to purchase.

Just to follow up, I was able to book YC on PLE for less than CBR. So we are definitely going since the room is non-refundable. But I am very excited!

Thanks for all the input!
