Please help as I am confused & starting to stress!

I was just about to book the Dune Buggy tour in Cozumel, through Shore Trips (which I believe is through Cozumel Homes) & realized that the tour starts at 10am & departs at 10:30....but Disney doesnt dock until 10am?

So can I book this excursion, or will we miss it?

I know other people on this board have done this excursion & am just wondering if they had any problems....I really dont want to stress over needing to be the first person off the boat, in order to get to my excursion on time.

If you took this excursion in the past, or plan to in the near future, please advise how you did, or are planning on handling the time crunch.

Thanks!!

We just booked the dune buggies for June 9th. I just called Veronica on the phone and she took all the information. She will ask you which cruise line you are on. If you are concerned about what time they meet, express that to her. I am told their office is almost across the street from where the ship docks.

I also just booked for 8/18 and I also told her we dock at 10:00, from what I understand the office is just a few blocks away, you meet there at 10:00 but don't leave until around 10:30. I was in Mexico a couple of times, they really don't seem to be a culture who are rushed and concerned too much with a clock. I don't have any worries about missing the tour. Remember most of these people are on island time! I think the last time we were off the ship in Cozumel before 10.

Please tell us how it is when you get back, I would love to hear more first hand. My DS7 is dying to go and wants us to get the hummer dune buggy shown on the website. Thanks.

Hi guys, we just did this tour through cozumelhomes/Veronica in the end of March. It was so much fun! You will really enjoy it. The tour office is literally about 5 minutes from the ship. We were a little worried about the 10:00 am meeting time as well and let veronica know that. She just said , "No Problem, you'll make it". So we gave it a shot. When the ship was cleared to disembark, we just got off (which was right at about 10 am) and we walked to the tour place. When we got there there were 2 other small groups already there, then we arrived and 2 other groups showed up in the next half hour. We really didn't even get into our buggies until about 11 am. They are on Mexico time (no rush) and have no problem waiting for late arrivals. Go and have a great time. One thing you'll need is TOWELS! We took some along from the ship and we were so glad we did! It can get warm and the seats are black vinyl, so you can get hot and sweaty. I was slipping around on my seat for the first half hour, and when I sat on my towel it was sooooo much more comfortable! So, be sure and take a towel with you! They offer plenty of beverages so no need to take anything like that. If you have kids, you may want to take a few munchies or fruit of something. It is a long day, but it goes by quickly. Take your camera! If you want to snorkel, and the water is calm enough, it is fantastic snorkeling, but the swim is long. If you aren't a strong swimmer, or for kids, take a buoyancy vest of some sort. They have snorkels, masks, and fins, but no vests. They had one of the guides snorkel out with us and it was absolutely fantastic, some of the best snorkeling I've done, and the guise didn't speak any english, but kept a close eye on everyone and directed us through the reef. Out of the 16 or so people on our tour only 6 of us make it to the reef, but we could have spent another hour out there. The swim back was long as well, but the water was calm and clear, so we just leisurely snorkeled back. We spent about an hour in the water, so if you don't think you can spend that much time without a vest, don't go (or take a vest). The water at the reef is about 30 feet deep, though the reef comes up to the surface (it's huge), so there is no place to touch down. My husband and I were fine, but others struggeled a bit.
We tipped out guides at the end as well. It really was probably the best day of the entire cruise! We hit a downpour on the way back into town and it was a blast driving through the puddles in town! Fun way to end a hot and dusty day!
Any other questions, please ask.

mrsfuzzmo's trip report earlier is what made me look it up and now we can't wait. It should be a great time. Can't wait to hear about everyone's and just make me more jealous for not being able to go yet.

Do you think that this tour is someting that an adventurous 3 and 6 year old would like? My son really wants to see the ruins, but am really unsure about how it would be for my 3 yr daughter?

Hi,

We were thinking of doing the Dune Buggy tour as well. Do you need to be able to drive a stick shift to go....my FH does but I dont. Also, my Fh is 6'5"....will he fit in the buggy? or will it be tight? And Lastly....do we have to share the buggy with another couple or do they allow 2 per car? Thanks in advance.
