Just saw a youtube video with a family that went there 2 years ago, there room looked like it was located not in but near the business section maybe building 4? The room had so much wear on it as they showed the furniture curtain rod, black mildew in the shower floor and tub, and the room they said smelled like mildew... I love the look of the room on the picture Disney vacation put out, but wow this looks beyond tired. Are the outer building in better shape and this for the Disney peeps that this is there home resort and they stayed at many sections and know the areas... Stood in the Royal room at Riverside and that was close to perfect. So what section looks the most refreshed as far the rooms.

I can't recall when CSR had its most recent room refurbs. I was there last October, in Cabanas 8A. Room was fine to me. Didn't look brand-spanking new, but no mold or mildew. I enjoyed it so much, DH and I return next week for a long weekend trip.

I wouldn't panic over one posting; I bet you could find a similar room in any large resort area (WDW and elsewhere) that had not been refurbed within the last couple months. If you should be unlucky enough to get such a room, go back to the front desk and ask to be moved. In most circumstances, I believe the CM would assign you another room. (Especially if you had pictures of the mildew to share. . .)

The Business Class rooms are slightly dated, but well maintained.

The pilot rooms for the refurb seem to be in Ranchos, if I recall my refurb rumors correctly.

I stayed in building 4 last year, and my room was not at all tired or covered in mildew. With my asthma, I couldn't stay in a room with mildew. I'm booked there again this October, and have again asked for building 4.

We were in Building 4 at Christmas and loved it. Minutes to the bus stop, next to the quiet pool and the laundry room. It was 2,000 steps to the main building but that wasn't an issue for us. No mold, no mildew, no worn room.

We stayed at ranchos in April and the room was clean but it did show some wear and tear. We didn't get the runners in the bed for some reason the round pillows were rather flat.

Thank you everyone, it was 2 years ago this video was posted and I know they do soft rehabs in between major renovations. It just looked so worn next to some of the pics I have seen on here.. was like "Whoa!" But I love the look and feel of this resort so we will give it a go. Appreciate your feedback, always fun to try different resorts...

CSR has almost two thousand rooms, and they're refreshed on a rotation. It's inevitable that there are going to be some worn rooms that are on the list to be refreshed, but still in use. If you get a room that's unacceptably worn down, just go back to the front desk and tell them you'd like to be moved.

The furniture in our room at CSR in February had taken quite a beating and definitely needed to be repaired or replaced. Our several previous stays at POP and AsMo had newer rooms, but we enjoyed CSR overall so much more we're going to return in fall even with the rooms needing a refurb.

We stayed in a prefered room at Christmas. Perfect room nice quality. Near the main building. We enjoyed the resort. Nice pools. If you aren't happy with the room you get allocated complain until you get one that suits your needs!

Haha, I know exactly what YouTube video you're talking about because after I booked CSR a few months ago I watched it and got worried myself!
LOL!!! The guy looked alot like Jackson Galaxy from "Cats are from hell and his runner family. He was very specific in his description of the room he stood in. It looked a little tired and worn. The mildew smell is what got me especially worried as I can't take that with allergy sensitivity, I would definitely request to be moved as soon as possible...

We are here now, and our room is in very good condition. No dings/scratches to the furniture, clean beds and carpet. The bathroom is fine but could use a refresh...if I am being nitpicky, the grout needs attention in spots.

Thank you for the up date.....

Coronado is our favorite resort! We stayed there five times from - 2010-2014, then returned in June after a stay at CBR and loved it as much as ever. Don't have cold feet going into this resort!

Thank you for the up date.....
You're welcome! It really is an amazing resort. It's absolutely beautiful, there are plenty of food options, and -contrary to some complaints- not a single person in business attire to be found (I've kept an eye out!).

Do the Washers and Dryers at the Laundry take Credit cards or Quarters? How much do they cost? thanks

I went and watched the video some of you have mentioned, and I think the guy is very fussy. By the way he used the camera, you could tell he was looking for things to complain about. Who looks at the curtain rod to see what it looks like? He complains about not having towel animals, he complains that he doesn't like the toiletries. He doesn't like that you can see the air return. He complains about the outlets, he complains that it looks beat to hell. Yeah, he likes to hear himself talk and complain I think.

We stayed at CSR in Ranchos 7B last month, and our room was fine. The bathroom could use updating, but we didn't have any mold, no dirt, no bugs, nothing that shouldn't be there.

I believe CSR's last refurb was in 2013, when we stayed there, which was slightly over two years ago. Perhaps the video was from before the refurb, because we did not experience any of that.
