Dh and I both have long drives to/from work, so if I put things in the crock pot, they cook for close to 12 hours before we have dinner. I have a crockpot that lets you select the number of hours, so I put it to 10 hours, and then it stays on warm. Problem is, things are starting to burn or be really dried out. Any suggestions? Is it just too long to cook something? Dd gets home a couple hours before I do, but if I had her turn it off, it probably wouldn't be warm when we went to eat.

TIA!! :goodvibes

Depending what it is, I would cook it all day on warm, this is what I do for chilli and it always ends up to be just right. Just don't cook it on high, for sure.

What if you add extra liquid? It's probably burning because all the liquid has evaporated after all that time.

ETA: Maybe have DD add a half cup of water to it when she comes home. Give it a good stir to incorporate, and leave it on to keep cooking and be warm when you get home.

Or put a bit extra in at the start? I'd always rather have more sauce than less;)
