Help! - confused over Disney confirmation no.

Let me set the scene:-

I have booked flights (indirect) and hotel with BA.

The 7 digit confirmation number they supplied didn't work to link my booking to the Disney system.

The nice people at BA have obtained a 12 digit number for me.

This didn't work either when input as booking number but DID work if I used it as the booking phone number.

Now I can see my booking and when I look at the Disney reference number it is the same 7 digit number that BA gave me originally!!??

What is going on?

I also had to change the names on my booking as we were both down as "sister", hopefully this is OK.

Thanks for any light that anyone can shed on this confusing procedure.

Unfortunately it sounds all too normal for MDE at the moment!

It's great when it works but still has so many glitches.

If you didn't book direct it does add the right names but we booked a stay a through Expedia and had to add the names of the people in the room once it was linked.

MDE site is a horrible, glitchy mess. Last week it suddenly got rid of my DD from my reservation and replaced her with a completely random person. Not at all good with confidential data. The next day DD was back. This was after it has created her twice of course..... Sorry that's not going to help you! Just venting.

The whole system is confusing, riddled with glitches and unexplained behavior and when it works, there is no point trying to make sense of it. Just be glad it works

I entered a different booking ref (the TC package ref 8 digits) and it accepted it so i understand the confusion. My daughter who is 6 is on the reservation as being 14! so TC are contacting Disney for me as their info is correct. Not going to link park passes until the age is sorted incase it won't accept the child pass. Plenty of time for me at the moment though so no panic.

It's comforting to hear that I am not the only one having problems. At the end of the day we have our hotel booking voucher and flight booked so I am sure the hotel will be able to sort out our fairly simple booking when we arrive.

At the moment the hotel reservation is showing one confirmation number but the magic bands (lime and yellow ) are showing the other.

I don't have park tickets yet or magical express booked so I still have all that fun to come.

Magical Express won't be a problem. It isn't linked to MDE and you can have that added to the reservation or sort it out yourself directly with DME.

Tickets should be fairly easy too - you just follow the steps to link them.

As for actually using the app ... well I am reserving judgment on that for the future
