Need opions on these 4 places I am looking at staying in mid September.
The prices for my dates are very close maybe a $100 difference from lowest to highest with AAA discount. HoJo is sold out for my dates so it is not an option. I want to be across the street. No car so parking is not an issue.

Looking at:
Park Vue Inn
Best Western Park Place Inn
Tropicana Inn
Carousel Inn and Suites

Your opinions will be appreicated.

Thanks

BWPPI is solid but unspectacular with consistently decent reviews. Park Vue gets mixed reviews and is less consistent. Tropicana updated their rooms over the last year or two and gets pretty consistent reviews. I do not know about Carousel.

I grew up staying exclusively at Disneyland hotels because my dad loved them, but when I started going with my friend instead of my family I went the cheaper route and stayed at offsite hotels. I've stayed at Best Western Park Place Inn twice and haven't had a bad experience there. It's nothing special, but it's the closest walk (I think) to Disneyland besides Disney hotels. It's convenient enough to walk back and forth throughout the day and if I recall correctly, they have free continental breakfast and a refrigerator in the rooms. The pool is pretty basic and small but it's still a decent pool to spend time in or tanning at.

I stayed at Tropicana about nine years ago and at Best Western Park Place Inn last summer. I liked both of them, but I thought that the breakfast at BWPPI was much bigger and better, so I would definitely choose it over Tropicana if the prices were similar (unless Tropicana has a different breakfast these days.) They are both very close to the parks. I don't know about the other hotels that you mentioned.

The wife and I stayed at the Tropicana last year and thought it was fine. We were never at the hotel for more than a night's rest and it served our needs just fine. The location is tough to beat.

We liked it enough that we booked 6 more nights for this up coming week with the kids.

;)

The Park Vue has a more extensive breakfast than BWPPI. Also, the PVI has a free light meal in the early evenings. There have been many complaints about the carpets for the PVI but they are being completely replaced and new photos have been shown on their facebook page. Another concern about PVI is the check-in procedure involves copying your DL and CC which concerns some people. However, I have not read about any problems. We are staying there in Jan and I am strongly considering staying there for our Oct trip (if I don't book a package).

We just got back a few weeks ago, and stayed at the Tropicana. We had a great stay. They have basic morning offerings, pastries, fruit, ect... That was fine for us. They have a nice size pool and hot tub. We could watch the fireworks perfectly from our room (third floor), and the rooms was always nice and clean. Soooo quiet. We really like it there.

We've stayed at the Anabella twice and always liked it.

It's also across the street (Katella).

Good luck!

Check the address of each hotel you are considering in the Megans Law website. A few years back a local news station did a report about the LARGE number of sex offenders that were living in Disney Neighborhood hotels.....and the tourist have NO CLUE........
Who knows maybe things have changes since that report....

We'll be going mid-September too!
These are some of the prices I searched earlier today
Park Vue Inn: $121/night 484 total 4 nights
Best Western Park Place: $99/night 459.11 total 4 nights
Anabella Hotel: $99/night 471.32 total 4 nights
Personally I wouldn't go with Carousel as their rates tend to be a little higher than the other ones.

We were originally planning to go from Sept 11-14, and only yesterday saw how many closures there'll be. We're going to change our plans to Sept 12-16 to at least get onto some of the rides that will be closed that week. So many refurbs! Last year, it didn't feel like there were so many. Or maybe I'm just grumbling over the loss of PoTC and BB too much. Does anyone think there are going to be any fall discounts or should I just start booking now?

Our current plan is to stay at the Anaheim Quality Inn and Suites near HOJO, since we've stayed there the last 3 times we went to Disney and it's super cheap. Can anyone find better rates than $57 per night that's walking distance? We'd love to try a new hotel if possible. We're visiting Universal Studios on Tues, Sept 13, Knott's on Wed, DCA on Thurs, and Disneyland on Fri, with Saturday reserved for driving home and around LA. Any recommendations to changes in plans? Wish there weren't so many refurbs...

I am also putting in a vote for BWPPI. We have stayed their twice, and although it is basic, we very much appreciate the location and the breakfast is decent. They are the closest, being right at the crosswalk, and it is so nice to be able to take a short walk back for a quick nap or swim. We will be staying there again in Oct. Good luck with your decision!

DD10 and I stayed at Tropicana last month for over a week. Nothing fancy, but very clean and super close to the DLR crosswalk. I agree that the breakfast was pretty limited, but it was good to grab a piece of fruit on the way out in the mornings. I found the desk staff to be extremely helpful, especially at navigating the busses to other destinations like Knottsberry Farm, etc. Haven't tried any other hotels/motels to compare--but we would certainly stay there again.
