Thank you so much! I received my rings in the mail today and had a sling made 15 minutes later! So easy, and he loves it. I'll be going to the fabric store in the morning to see what I can find for the pool and water parks, and just to do a few in different colors. Plus I may order some fabric with SPF protection to help, I'm a little nuts with keeping my boys protected from the sun! Thanks again!

sounds super we had various slings inc the ergo and mei tais. But also a pouch sling made of solar veil fabric which is a strange feel but provides extra protection. Not sure if you can just purchase the fabric to make something.

And now I'm all broody at the thought of a little baby snuggled in a sling ;-)

Ive never been to disney with an infant, but when my son was little I loved my Ergo baby!

We are travelling to Disney in May when our youngest will be 4 months old. He will primarily be in the stroller for sun protection, but obviously we will have to take him out and hold him when standing in lines we can all go on. I'm trying to decide which sling would be better, based on this criteria: 1. Easy to put on & to get him into - no fancy wraps! 2. Won't make him or I hot (again why I don't want a wrap) 3. Comfortable for both of us. Essentially I want something light that I can keep in the bottom of the stroller and very quickly slip on and put him into. Right now I'm between the Babasling lite and the Maya Ring Sling, so if anyone has any experience with either in the parks - or has another one I should consider - please let me know! Thanks!

I would look into a kinderpack (infant size). They make some of their carriers with koolnit fabric, to help airflow keep the baby cool. We have a different SSC (soft-structured carrier), and we had no issues keeping it in the bottom of the stroller, and it was very easy to get on.

I used a Maya sling with a 6 month old at Disney. It was the most breathable of the carriers I've owned. It's nice because you can put the baby in lots of positions with it. Yes, sometimes with a heavier baby it can make your shoulder or back sore, but I found that at Disney there was enough sitting down times on rides in between the walking that it wasn't a problem. Also, I'd try to switch shoulders frequently. The sling was nice because it was small enough to throw in the bottom of the stroller when we weren't using it and it doubled as padding for the back of those wooden highchairs when the baby was just on the verge of being able slightly too small or unstable to sit comfortably in them.
