HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! character tea party vs normal tea party

i know its me again, but im trying to get everythin finalised in my mind....

we currently have booked the character tea party at lucky nugget - which is supposted to come with some cake & a present.....

BUT - after seein previous threads - the characters there are gonna be the same as what we will get at cafe mickey - except we wont get mickey lol

soooooooo, was wondering if it was worth trying to change it to pizza planet - *** its paid for now, so wud i be able to change & get partial refund??? and is it worth it as i see pizza planet havin bad reviews, but also being closed just recently????

just i know that ds2 isnt gonna eat much where ever we are, and its a bit disappointin to get pretty much the same characters we will get at cafe mickey.

the price diff is only a couple of £, so - whats ur opinions?? and do u think we can chage?? also, what present do they get at the birthday tea??? is it worth it??

Both tea parties are character ones - the Lucky Nugget is the birthday one, and Pizza Planet is the Toy Story one.

I've seen Mickey and Minnie at the Lucky Nugget for the character lunch, although they are not guaranteed there. In fact, the characters that are at the Lucky Nugget are very similar ones to the ones you get in Cafe Mickey in my experience.

For my DD's birthday, I'm either doing Cafe Mickey (but an early evening sitting), or the Sunday brunch (as this is also a character meal). I'll order her birthday cake to be brought to the table at one of these restaurants.

I personally think the birthday cake at your favourite restaurant would be a more unique experience - the birthday tea parties at the Lucky Nugget are going to be full of people celebrating their birthdays all at the same time. But then again, I'm sure lots of people like that idea .

As you want different characters, you might want to change your booking to go to the Pizza Planet, if its not closed. I believe the tea party food is very similar in both Pizza Planet and Lucky Nugget - sweet stuff and drinks.

elaine - we are having a cake at cafe mickey on the last day!

just not sure if maybe having the one at pizza planet - at least the boys wud see buzz..... as hes the only one they havent seen.....
yet at lucky nugget - it wud be great if eeyore & tigger were there...........

am actually wishing that wed not bothered to book it. as its full of sweets (and no one can eat that much sweet stuff) and i cant see that the present they get wud be that unique (anyone know what they get??).

would i be able to cancel and get a refund at this late time - we have it booked for next wednesdya???

just thinking, the way that money is, we cud put that money towards other meals, or maybe a nice present for the boys (dlrp related one).

do u think its too late to cancel??

It sounds like you want to cancel - so phone and see what they say at Disney.

The last time I was at a tea party, the birthday boy or girl got a little cuddly Mickey which sang a song.

i like the idea of that cuddly mickey - but do i like enuf for an hr or so wasted with loads of sweet stuff??????

think im gonna try n call - looked at my letter info, and it seems to imply if i cancel the 'special services/tickets' between 7 & 3 days - u pay 75% cancellation - so will have to see....

ok - have found out that to cancel it wud cost us 75% so guess were stickin with the birthday one!!!

although - when questioned about the food available, the cm said there had never been any savoury at the character tea parties!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so - there u go. sorta disappointed, so, if anyone can give reports of what presents they have seen children been given or they have had - it wud be appreciated!! and yes, i am the person who shakes present to find out whats in them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
