I need help in trying to find a decent priced car rental for 3/9 - 3/21. We are flying into Orlando on the night of March 9 and are leaving early on March 21. We are going down early because we are taking our daughter on two college visits in the Fort Lauderdale area on March 10 and 11 and won't really start our Disney vacation until Sunday, March 13. Everything I am getting is for almost $600 or more. I have never paid this much even at this time of the year.

Anyone have any advice. I have National Emerald Club, and am a member of Costco and Sam's

I am finding it absurd as well. Best I've found is through our insurance co - USAA. I got a midsize for 8 days for about $200 including a coupon.

I haven't found good deals at all like I used to!!!! In 1992, the year before DH and I got married, we got a rental car from Alamo for $79 plus tax for a week (and it was the first time I'd ever rented a car!). Love to see that again!!!!

Also, Alamo used to be the cheapest and so convenient. Not the case anymore.

On Nov. 6 I made an 8 day ressie for an economy car from Dollar for $180.49 total, no discount, no code, March 3 through 10. Since then I've checked it and the same deal has fulctuated between $325 and the low $500s. I hope for your sake and that of others that I'm wrong, but I think you missed your window. I've read here that they will go down, and there's always Priceline, but what I'd do is grab the best deal you can find now and check every day for something better.

We got around the same price for our rental March 23-April 4. Now I want to keep the car and stay in Florida to see Jimmy Buffett but the extra 11 days goes about $374 a week!:scared1: Ok, Jimmy, see you in Paris instead.

I check periodically for our March 10-20 trip. I booked National back in August at $223 all included for the 10 days. Prices now are over $500 plus. Booked some friend at Budget for the same dates in early December for about the same price.

There must be a lot going on during that time. The UCA national high school and college cheer championships are at WDW the weekend of March 12-13, plus I am sure there are tons of other conventions..... on a side note, I wouldn't want to be staying anywhere near the All-Stars during that week, unless you are a cheerleader or love cheer. We are off-site in a house rental, but my wife is a cheer coach and daughter is a cheerleader, so we will be spending some time watching the cheer competitions at Wide World of Sports and DHS (Indiana Jones stadium).

It's not great, but I did find something today through Budget for about $370 all inclusive. It beats the $570 I got quoted from several others. I will keep watching to see if anything else comes up.
