We have been going to FW for many years but did not go last year. We always stay in the 800 loop, and have a 22 ft. RV and also use a large tent to accommodate our large family and three pugs. Now we are confused :confused3 about the site since they have redone them. I have the premium site reserved, but need to know if it is possible to put a tent on the site. I called the Fort and they said that we cannot stake down a tent, but you can have a tent.:scared1: Is that true and have any of you had any experience with this???? Please Help, we are leaving next week! :santa: Thanks in advance for any advice.......

They are correct. It is all concrete, no sand pad. So, technically, you are allowed to have a tent. You just have nothing to stake it down to. I think Carol pointed out that if you situate it on the corner of the concrete, you could stake down 3 corners. That would only work with my dome tent as it is pretty much free standing anyway. My larger tent would not be steady enough with only 3 corners staked down.

Now, there has been talk of people placing them off of the concrete pad. This is not allowed by the fort, but apparently, a lot of people are doing it.

Happy Camping!!!
