HELP! Can you freeze the amish bread starter?

ok -- I was suppose to give 4 away but instead can I keep them and freeze them? anyone done this? and then do youi just thaw and proceed later on?

Most bread starters have live organisms that would die with freezing.

Yup, we've done it a lot and it works fine. Nothing changes in it, it works perfectly!
