We have had a reservation for Narccoossees for months now for 6 adults. Now we need to add a 5yo in. I called to add him- "they are completely booked" she says.

If we show up, do you think they could find a chair and stick him on the end of the table? He's just a 5yo. I know he counts toward the total but I'm so upset now and just hope we can squeeze him in.

Do you think they will turn us away?

I would try it. Do they even have tables that seat 5 or would it be a 6-top anyway? Either way, go for it. :)

I'd arrive early, and I mean the complete party! We found them to be very accomodating so I'm sure if they can they will.

This is now a party of 7. They may end up taking 2 4 toppers or 4 and a 2 where they can add a chair. In any event it is worth a try.

Tables are made for even numbers. So for a party of 5 they would be sitting at a 6-person table.

Our group would now be 6 adults and 1 5yo child.

I looked online and they have lots of 6 top tables. Our thought is that they could add him in on the end- it looks to be enough space to fit him in with servers passing by.

I am desperate now, so we are just gonna have to get their early and beg. :scared:

I had asked about this specifically when I was trying to book another reservation and the table sat 4 and I need 5. They were booked up. They told me 2 days ago that the property won't add a chair on the end b/c it makes other guests cramped but mostly b/c it is unsafe. If you were planning to dine at GF, you would be better off to try to get him in the Mouseketeers club instead and the adults dine together. Good luck anyhow!

The mouseketeers club would be a great idea. Even if it is "only a kid" that you want to add, the size of the chair is the same as adding an adult. At most Disney restaraunts the tables are fairly close to each other and adding a chair to an area were there is not normally one would make for crowded conditions.

my guess would be that if you get there early, it wouldn't be a problem to add one person- as long as you tell them you are willing to wait!

we had reservations for 6 in the castle (dinner), and they added 2 more at the last minute. they were really nice. :goodvibes

Another option is to see if they have an opening for a table for 1 (or 2) at the same time. They can usually link reservations like that. While you are not guaranteed the same table, they are usually very good at getting ones at least close to you. You can also try this for 4 and 3. I'd call back and see if any of that is open for around the time you want.

I think they'll be able to accommodate you with no problem.

And, I have to laugh at the notion that they won't add another chair because it makes it too crowded for other guests. No CM could say that who's ever eaten at Chefs de France. The tables and chairs are sooooo close we could have eaten our neighbors' food just as easily as we ate our own. Le Cellier is the same way. Same with San Angel Inn and Alfredo's (at least when it was Alfredo's -- don't know now). Even Jiko is pretty close seating, IMO. I can't see what difference it makes to add one more chair when the seating is so ridiculously uncomfortable anyway.

In any event, happily, Narcoosee's is one of the more spaciously-designed restaurants at WDW, so I think the OP will be fine.

Thank you to all that replied! Here is a fantastic update :)

I got the phone # of Narcoossees direct. I spoke with the manager and said "We have a reservation for Saturday, unfortunately it's only for 6 people and we have to add 1 more, I was told by Disney dining that we could not be accommodated"

Her response was "It's never unfortunate to have another person added! (in a happy cheery voice :) Then she said, I see your reservation is for 7:40, it's done! 7:40 for 7 guests!

I was SHOCKED! She couldn't have been more happy to help! I started to tear up!

I called disney dining right after I got off the phone to check the reservation- she said yes, you have narcoossees for 7 guests!

They say this is the year of a million dreams, and while this certainly isn't part of the million dreams prizes, it sure feels like it was for me! I've never seen the fireworks before or been to any of the disney resorts, now I get to experience them at the GF. I'm so excited :)

Glad that worked out for you!!! :wizard: I know you're happy, and I just hope you arent disappointed that the dining line couldnt just make it magically 7. As you know they are just in a room somewhere, with rules that they follow to make ressies. Calling the place direct was the perfect thing to do, as they are in the trenches and know what can and cant be done :)

Nice getting magic before you even go isnt it!!!

People don't seem to believe it when I gush about this place. We had dinner there on August 30th and it was a heavenly experience. Each time we had a "could you" type of question, Chevy got out a yes before we could finish the request. Absolutely worth 2TS! I am not at all surprised at the response you received and I am ecstatic that they are able to accommodate you!

The food, service and atmosphere are simply amazing. Lastly I will repeat my suggestion: have a Mango smoothie...ooh la la! :thumbsup2

I am certainly not upset with Disney dining. :thumbsup2 They have rules to follow and rules are rules. Our reservation is on a Saturday, in time for Wishes during dinner. Certainly a VERY popular time and a popular restaurant. I can certainly understand not being able to add people. I feel really lucky, like a wish was granted before we even left! :) :wizard:
