Hello fellow Disney fans! :)

Need a little bit of help... My Fiance and I want to go to WDW for our Honey Moon, problem is, we'd be funding this little vacation on our own and our budget is not that big, after wedding expenses we're looking to spend anywhere from about 1,000 to 1,500 (plane tickets have already been taken care of, as we got 2 day passes for Universal Studios and a stay from August 7 to the 9 from our family.. we're flying from California) our Return flight will be on Monday the 13th

So for WDW our dates would be as follow: Checking in on August 9, Checking out on August 13.

The cheapest package I found through the WDW website is The All-Star Movies with a Magic Your Way Plus Dining Package and two 1 park passes for 4 days (perfect to spend one day at each park) for: $1,480

Now my question is... to all you savvy WDW experts... is that the cheapest deal I'm going to find for those dates? is there travel agencies that might knock off a few dollars here and there? coupon codes, etc? how about those websites such as priceline, travelocity, etc.? (I've never used them)

I've heard that the more you stay, the more you save.. would this be true if I book more days, even though we're only staying 4? :rolleyes1

Any help would be greatly appreciated.!! :woohoo:

look on mousavers.com for coupon codes and specical dates.
an annual pass might be cheaper and you could go ago within one year.
also maybe rent points from a dvc'er . just be sure the person is honest also they dont know you. You send them a downpaymet pays for the trip about 45 days before you go. This would give you a dvc villa suite, one bedroom which is very nice.

Check out the Special Offer page on the WDW website, there may be some discounts there. There is currently a Summer special, but it doesn't begin until Aug 15.

With as few days as you are going to be there, I would drop the dining plan and pay cash for meals. Dh and I do that and sometimes, we will just share something, especially with it hot. We were just down in June for 4 days and spent about $300 on meals and that included 3 TS meals, alcohol, and tips and several CS meals. If you drop the dining plan, you can get the room and tickets for $975, which leaves you $525 for food and souveniers.

You can check out menues at www.allears.net and know the prices of food before you arrive.

Check Undercover Tourist for discounted park ticekts, you still have time to order and get them sent to you. I've never used them, but have heard nothing but good things about them. You can do a room only reservation for $427 and tickets from UT for $509.91, that's a savings of $38.

The more days you purchase on the tickets, the less they are per day.

AAA offers small discounts, which would be better than nothing.

At this late date, you are kind of at the mercy of what is left. Most people book a year in advance.

With a budget that small, I wouldn't recommend renting DVC points or an Annual Pass, 2 AP's will run you over $1000 easily. And there most likely wouldn't be very much available for DVC choices, either.

I just searched one for ASMu for your dates, chose standard room and 4 day tickets, plus DDP for $1387.
I also found the same thing without the DDP for $975 if you want to do the meals on your own. With your trip so close some ADR's may be hard to get anyway and you would then be able to just eat where you wanted and maybe save a little more.

Have either of you been there before? If so call Disney and see if either of you have a PIN attached to your name for bigger savings. I do have a travel agent I like, if you're interested PM me and I'll give you her details.

Definitely great tips :thumbsup2 , I looked into what you told me PrincessSuzanne. and you may be right, dropping the dining plan may be a better option, I also noticed that doing a 'room-only' reservation knocks off almost 150 bucks when getting the discounted tickets.

navywifetill2002: We have been there twice before but we've always stayed outside, the Ramada had a deal when staying more than 4 days, it brought the price to 45 dollars per night. We're quite curious to try the 'full' Disney experience this time around. We have Annual passes for Disneyland and we go at least twice every other month (Big Disney fans). Because of that we were just going to do Universal, but as they say.... once in Florida...

I have things a little bit clearer now, Thank you all!! :cool1:
