HELP!!! BIG CHANGES to my NYE trip!!!!

Ok So Disney came out with a 30% deal for nights starting 1/1/10 onwards. great!! I am able to get my nights at Pop Century for 30% off instead of paying full rack rate for those 5 nights, which means big savings!!! Now the prob is that my TA had to change my ressie because the Disney Agent wouldn't talk to GR to get the promo put on my ressie. So my TA called me and I said just change my dates and put my orig deposit on the nights from 1/1-1/6. Prob is we've done this and I have lost the first 2 nights at Pop!! And according to the WDW site there are no values avail 12/30-1/1. This was my doing because I really don't have the money to put down the deposit on another ressie. Now here's the dilemma I have been finding great deals on Hotwire for 3-4 star hotels right near Celebration (Gaylord Palms) and DTD area (no idea what hotels this could be) should I book through hotwire or just try and find something on expedia etc? Does anyone know how the shuttles are from the GLP Resort? Or should I try for the Lake Buena Vista Palace in DTD??

Help I am freaking out a bit LOL but it's my own fault!!!

I'm guessing by your asking about the buses between WDW and Gaylord Palms, that you won't have your own transport?

Will that make a difference in where you stay?

What's your preference, longer stay offsite, or shorter stay onsite?

I don't understand why WDW wouldn't 'talk' to GM? That caused you to lose the full stay at the special rate?

I don't drive so I need to use shuttles and wdw transportation. The Agent my agent was dealing with last night (who alos botched the dates for my trip now too) wouldn't talk to someone at GR to get the promo put on the days they would apply to my on my trip. She wanted Angie to have me book them as a separate ressie but wouldn't put a hold on it for me to get the money together etc. So right now I have a ressie for Pop Century Jan 1-6. I arrive Dec 30 and need a place to stay for Dec30+31. My 3 top choices are:

Lake Buena Vista Palace
Pros- right across from DTD and Earl!!!
DTD Hotel transporatation or use WDW and walk across the street from DTD
would receive a $50 room credit for my 2 night stay to use while at the resort
my aunt always stays here and loes it
Cons- $156+ per night + $15 per night resort fee

Holiday Inn Express Lake Buena Vista
Pros- free breakfast each morning
great reviews!!!
about $139 with no addt fees
Cons- shuttle only goes to Epcot but in fairness that is where I plan on spending NYE anyways but I might have to take a cab back after the fireworks and that could be VERY costly

Gaylord Palms- Pros Hotwire rate of $165
their own shuttles and close to Pop if I miss their shuttle can just cab it over

Cons- $20 resort fee
not so great reviews

Ilove HIX's but the Lake Buena Vista is close!!!!

Well that certainly seems to be the place to beat. I called the HIX and the shuttle only runs 3 times daily so I would have to walk or cab it back to the hotel after the NYE fireworks and I really don't want to do a 30 min walk from DTD at 1am!!! Maybe if I hear from my Aunt she will be able to get me a deal at LBVP!!
