my other half loves German food, and i am not a meat lover. I have always steered clear of this rest., but feel it is time I let him have a "treat"... I have made ps for CPackage. Is this a good choice?? He likes Marakkesh too, and is fairly flexible. I thought about Rose and Crown (which we have enjoyed) just thought i was being the "good wife"to finally take him here..

Will it be ok?? will 6 year old love the music? thanks

Biergarten blows the doors off Rose and Crown, we also love Marrakesh.

I think you will enjoy germany!

I like the Biergarten, but DW isn't that fond of it. She does go with me for lunch and finds foods that she will eat. I believe the 6 year old will enjoy the German band and maybe even dance with the others.

Here is their menu if you haven't seen it: www.allearsnet.com/menu/men_ger.htm

I think Biergarten is yucky!!

We went about a year ago and I was realy looking forward to it. My dad loves German food so I spent a lot of time prepping him to remember that this is Disney German and not a gourmet German restaurant, etc. etc. I didn't want him to be disappointed.

My dad and 2 year old son LOVED the place. In fact I don't think I've ever seen my child eat so much food at one sitting. They BOTH went back for seconds and my son laughed hysterically at the entertainment. Later he danced outside the restaurant in the courtyard with a pre-school little girl to the outdoor band. He actually drew a crowd. My son's dad is adopted and I have decided that his birth parents must be German because my son definately seems to have a love for all things German in his blood!!

I, on the other hand could hardly swallow a bite. There's something about the strong vinegar taste that is in EVERY dish that just doesn't sit right with me. It's like all the dishes are completely different, but they all have exactly the same after taste. Unfortunately that after taste followed me around for a day and a half.

My fiance and I are taking my son for a quick trip in December and focusing on everything my son likes to do. Biergarten briefly entered my mind because I remembered how much my son loved it. But I just couldn't bring myself to do it again. He'll have to settle for scoping out another pre-schooler for more courtyard dancing to get his German fix this year!

on German food so I loved it! My DW has not had much German food and was scared that she would not be able to find anything to eat. She enjoyed all of it, especially the salmon, roasted chicken, cucumber salads, soups, etc. Our daughters liked it too.

It is really a fun experience with the setting of the Biergarten (it looks like you are eating in an Old World German village), the music and yes, the food!

Enjoy!

Another big yes! This has become pretty much our favorite restaurant at WDW, and one of the must do places. And, we have a lot (well, not as many as we used to have) good German restaurants here in Chicago we could go to. Never had a bad meal here, unlike other places at WDW that change from time to time.

This place is great!!!! We went in August with 6 adults and 6 kids. All 6 kids (ranging from 8yo to 2yo) were on the dance floor having the times of their lives. They all loved the food and ate plenty. The adults all thought the food was good, but we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. Our waitress was fantastic.

I highly recommend this.

We thought the food was good - but it is German - and, IMHO (and I've traveled in Germany - and grew up in a German family) pretty authentically German. It is also a buffet (which we don't like - we have small children and find buffets to be logistically difficult - even without small children, I do enough walking a WDW). Its communal seating (which we don't mind, but others do - and if you are a small party you probably will get seated with others). And the entertainment is entertaining, but loud - this isn't an intimate restaurant for conversation.

My son loved the atmosphere, my kids both ate well (as did the rest of us) and we may end up here again when they are a little older and can handle their own plates.

Biergarten is very cool, great atmosphere, and good food. I'm happy to hear that others have vouched for its authentic cuisine. I also love Marrakesh, though, and haven't been to Rose and Crown. We are doing that for our next trip!

I LOVE Biergarten!! However, I am half-German so grew up on my Grandmothers wonderful German cooking!

Mmmmmm, a big plate of Lentls and Speatzla (sp). I can taste it now!!

The German potato salad is also one of my favorites!!

Unfortunately, Snitzels don't work well for buffets.

I lived in Germany and the whole atmosphere reminds me of the biergarten that used to be around the corner from my apartment. The food is good--with a lot of choices for those that don't like traditional German food. My picky DD even found food she liked!

My DW is 1/2 German and we live in what used to be a German neighborhood and there are still at least a half-dozen good German restaurants near where I live. With that in mind, we love Biergarten. The atmosphere is great, the food even better. There is enough variety in the buffet to suit most people.
