Help...Best route during rush hour from LB airport to Huntingon Beach. Going tomorrow

I forgot to ask this earlier, hoping someone local will see this. We are flying into Long Beach airport tomorrow afternoon at 5:30pm. We will be heading to Huntington Beach to visit family before heading to the hotel. What do you think is the best way during rush hour? So not looking forward to driving in it. Also, is there any construction to worry about? Thanks so much!

There will probably be traffic at that time, but the easiest way would be to hop onto the 405 south. Its really not that many exits till you get to the HB area. Or if you want to side street it, you can head down Spring, it turns into Ball I believe and then make a right on Knott which turns into GoldenWest and that will take you all the way down to PCH.

I would try the 405s before going on surface streets b/c it has a carpool lane all the way down, plus it's not that far to hb from lb.

Depending on your stress level, time frame, desires, and location of family in HB, I will also suggest an alternative to the 405 (which is a great way to go, especially if the family is in the north end of HB).

For a more "scenic route" along the ocean (or for family living closer to the coast), get on the 405 South, but then exit at Seal Beach Blvd (Google maps lets you drag your route to that option). Follow Seal Beach Blvd all the way to Pacific Coast Highway, turn left, and follow the coast all the way to HB. Make sure to roll down your windows to get the salt-air smell!

Disclaimer: Can't guarantee traffic (anywhere in So Cal), but it will be pretty!
