Help-Best price for new member through Disney

I have researched and researched until I have become obsessed and numb I looked at resale and Disney and all over these boards.
I just want to check something-
I found out through Disney DVC rep that you CAN purchase 100 pts now directly through Disney as a new member. Only difference is the discount per pt is a bit less.
Anyone buy recently through Disney direct . IF so, what did you pay per pt if you bought 100 at AKL??
Should I wait for my cruise to see what the incentive will be?? Will the guides be able to give me the deals offered on the boat now with my ressie #??
Just checking things out some more.
I know about resale but in some instances I am finding Disney a better route.

I have read on the boards that someone (new member) bought 100 points at AKV and got them for $99.00 per point.

As for the cruise you are going on, I don't know if you will get better deals for the 100 point contracts. I think those additional incentives would only kick in when you do the 160 minimum--which right now is $19.00 off per point ($93.00) with a member referral.

Has anyone else had the experience of buying less than 160 points from Disney initially? I thought you had to buy a minimum of 160 points from them. I am very close to purchasing our first contract but have been scouring the resale market because I thought it was not an option to buy direct.

they have offered the option of buying only 100 pts for SSR and AKV in the past. BLT would require at least 160. not sure what they are willing to do right now but i'd definitely call a guide if you are interested in 100 pts or so at SSR or AKV.
