Help - Best Auto Rental Prices

We are planning a trip to WDW in December 2008. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to obtain the lowest Auto Rental fares be it package deals, book our own, via AAA, via Disney, etc.

We used budget the last time we rented a car. steps we took. Searched for rental car discount codes or coupons that could be printed from internet. Found great Budget discount codes. Went to orbitz, and believe it or not Budget offered the best deal for weekly rate. Used the code we found and rented a pt cruiser for a week for only $140.00.Full insurance included. Not a bad deal considering that other companies were quite a bit higher.

I haven't tried this in Orlando, but I've had great luck with using priceline for two recent rentals. I was after a compact car, and in each case rented one for about $14/day, plus the usual tag-along expenses. One was Avis, the other Hertz. Debit cards accepted in each case. Downside -- you have to pay in advance, and if you cancel, too bad.

If your bid is not accepted, you have to wait a few days to make another one, so it makes sense to start the process well in advance. The site will tell you ahead of time if your bid is way out of line.

Anyway, it worked for me. May be worth a shot.

I just booked our car. I first checked Hotwire.com. They give you the rate and car size but don't tell you the company. I then used that information and bid about $2 lower than their lowest price on priceline.com. I got a midsize car from Alamo for $12 a day. With taxes and fees for nine days the total is $160.95, which works out to $17.88 a day.

I have the best price from Alamo for ten days (11/26-12/6). Renting a compact for $125 including all taxes with the Amex discount code and $20 off e-coupon. I didn't have an Amex card but applied for the blue card and was approved instantiy. It saved 15% off the rental. Amex code is 7013604 and coupon is ad3829mrb. Also another nice feature is that you don't have to prepay and you don't have to shuttle to off site at airport to p/u car.
