Idiot needs help!!

I want to treat DH to a baseball game at spring training, and we have ressies beginning March 26 at BWV. I added a studio for March 23-26 for DH to go down early to see the Atlanta what's-their-name, whoever plays at Wild World of Sports. I need to know:

Are tickets paid in advance, or at the door? Cost?

What if it rains? Do you get your money back?

Reserve seating?

Are tickets for Wild World of Sports part of our AP's or not?

I listened to at least some of what DH said about baseball, but had zoned out for the more important stuff. Now what else do I need to know? Help!!

Have not been to Atalanta braves game at WDW.......but been to other Spring training and Minor Leagues games.

1.You can purchase tx in advance and at the door.(usually between $6-$15)
2.If it rains, most parks will let you use the tx for another game.
3.There are reserve seating and General Admission seats.
4.I doubt it if the tx will be part of your AP's.

Thanks, Nick!

Do CMs have info on the Atlanta Braves? If not, how do I find out if they are scheduled to play on the dates DH will be there? I suppose DH could just spend 3 days playing golf if there are no scheduled games going on, but that sounds kind of boring to me:laughing:

I used to have a link for the Bravees Spring traing site(can't find it right now). Once the Spring schedule is released, you can order tx on-line, or in person. Just go to the Atlanta Braves home page below periodically and you will know when there schedule is released.;)

Hey! I'm waiting until the spring training schedule coems out, which shuld be early December. This will eb my first tiem planning thsi for hubby as he wants to amke this a yearly event. (HUGE baseball fan.) From what i understand once tickets go on sale you NEED to buy them in advance as the Braves spring training sells out.
What I'm worried about is getting a studio for him. I'm waiting for the schedule because he'll only be going down for a few nights and I need to book it for days when they have games there.

Good luck!

A lot of the spring training games sell out (especially the ones in late March), so buy your tickets in advance.

Went a couple of years ago about the second week of March. Watch the Atlanta Braves website and they will post their schedule soon. We just had to pay for the tix. YOu do not have to pay an additional admission. It was a good time. The buses out there are not really effiecient and timely. Just be prepared to go early and don't plan anything too close after the game just to be sure. You'll love the facility........top notch (duh to me....it's WDW!!!!). Go really early and eat at the All-Star Cafe there. A sports nuts dream. They have things on display like Shaq's shoes. Very similar to the ESPN concept.

Most baseball games offer rain checks to another one of their games (where tix are available) if the game is cancelled. Often they have rain delays and will wait it out and play if at all possible. It is not unusual to wait out a three or four hour delay!

As mentioned, the schedule will be posted on the Atlanta Braves site. The tickets go on sale very early in January. Some games (like the Yankees) sell-out almost immediately. The tickets are purchased through Ticketmaster. I think the chances of getting lawn seating are greater than actual stadium seats. I haven't had a chance to actually get to a game yet but I have seen the stadium. It's beautiful.

I just did some exploring and found this info on last year's Spring Training. It will give you a rough idea. Keep your eye out for the actual schedule to see which games correspond to your travel dates.

We went several years ago and had a great time. Tommy Glavine walked right passed us and we were too stunned to speak. You are much closer to the field and the players then in the big pro stadiums. Note that the big names only play a few innings.

Buy your tickets as soon as you can. Take plenty of sunscreen. The games are usually at 1 and there is no shade.

There were doing Baseball Tonight from the ESPN Club that week too. We had quite a fun time!

We love spring training baseball and have gone to 2 games at WWOS. We have gone to an afternoon game (very hot in the sun, so try for shaded seats!) and a rare evening game (much more enjoyable). I strongly suggest getting tickets in advance, although you will be forced to use Ticketmaster (or Ticketmonster, as we refer to it). But even the tickets thru the gate are sold by Ticketmaster, just with less fees. But I have bad news about rain-outs. The Ticketmaster policy is that your refund comes thru the mail, after you send your tickets to them. This applies even if you buy the tickets at the gate (which is how I discovered that Ticketmaster controls the tickets at the gate). AP entitles you to see Orlando Rays games for free, but does nothing for Braves games. We have eaten at All-Star Cafe. A PS is desirable if you plan on eating there before a game, which is the only time I think the Cafe is crowded. Food is passable, ala ESPN. We saw John Smoltz at the Cafe.
If you have a car, there are great spring training games thru out FL, in March. We have seen the Dodgers at Dodgertown, in Vero Beach and went to Tampa to Legends Field to see the Yankees.

Note the Orlando Rays are now gone to Alabama as the Montgomergy Biscuits.
Anyoen know if WWOS will get a replacement team?

They can't trade him. Javy Lopez filed for free agency last week. The Atalanta Braves can't trade him because he no longer is a member of the Atlanta Braves. He is a free agent. Any team can now sign him, including Atlanta.

Thanks, everyone, for your help! I have lots of sites to check out now, and lots of advice so I will be able to pull this all together, I think. I was going to book DH's plane, but decided to wait till I find out about the schedule of games. I'm actually getting excited about all this, although I can't go. I'd love pretty much any place with food and sunshine:teeth:

I guess your husband is pretty excited since he was poking around the site. This is great that he/you found the schedule. I've never seen anything out this early. It looks like the prices went up $.50-$.75. I think a Spring Training trip would be a blast.

It's pretty sly of Disney to put together a Yankees/Mets package. Those are two of the games that sell-out quickly when single game sales start. It is nice to have an option other than a full season ticket package. You've really found some important info to share! Nice work.
