I got some really great prices for airfare on Orbitz.com
but I am a little hesitant to use them. Any input?????
(One of my major concerns is that you can only purchase
4 tickets at a time and I need to buy 7...I would hate to
buy the first 4 and do the same process all over again only to find out that there are no more seats available!!!)

Anybody - please HELP!!:(

I just get all the info from Orbitz and then call the airlines directly to book. I just did that this morning!

What if the flight going and the flight coming back are on
two different airlines???
(Departing flight is on US Air and return flight is on
Midway!)

I've been using them to search airfares for the last few days, but I'm not going to buy my tickets through them. I figured out that if I go directly through the airline's website I get to select my own seats, but if you go through Orbitz, they assign them. I'd rather see where the seats are and pick out where I want to sit myself.

Did you try going to that airline's website to purchase tickets? You might be able to find the same fares and some will let you purchase all 7 tickets at once over the internet.

Or, I would try calling Orbitz' toll free number and see if you can purchase more than 4 tickets at once over the phone. Their customer service number is 1-888-656-4564 .

Thanks for the input and the 888 number. I will
definitely try that.

PS Does anyone have a link to US Airways?
( I got $177 R/T price from LGA to MCO in Nov)

You can also try your local Travel Agent if you're flying 2 different airlines. Just give them all the info and they should be able to dig up the same fares for you.

I had a problem with Orbitz yesterday myself. They priced a ticket for me at $109, and when I tried to purchase it, they said the system was busy and to try again later. I tried again within 5 minutes and the fare had increased by $50 to $159. What was the deal with that? I eventually bought the ticket on the Delta Website for $111.

Also, a few weeks ago, they said they had a ticket for $109 on Jetblue, and Jetblue insisted up and down that there was no way Orbitz could offer that price.

So I have to wonder how reputable Orbitz is.

When you search on orbitz it looks at fare only. Then, when you click to purchase, it does a second search, this one for availability of seats at that fare. That's probably the reason you got the results you did.
