Here's my dilemma - we are vacationing July10 - 16 on a split stay of 3 nights at AKL Kidani Savanna View and 3 nights at VWL. When I booked these we did not have enough points for all of our stay so the first two of our nights at AKL were booked on cash. Well, my DH finally decided this weekend that since we really love DVC and since he felt we'd need more points in the future that it was crazy to have a cash reservation and we should just add on points. So, I called our guide and got just what we wanted add on!
Our guide felt I should have no problem finding those same cash nights on points, but when I called MS today to try to make that change, only one of the two nights was available. We do NOT want to pay cash for any night now that we've already spent the $$ to add on. So now I've got the first night on points, night two cash (and waitlisted on points) and night three on points. What do you think the odds are that the waitlist will come through? Should I also do a second waitlist - for example - should I do a waitlist for all three nights at AKL in a standard room too - in hopes that might increase our chances? Or should I add a second waitlist for the three nights at another resort? As I said, we do not want to pay cash for any night but I don't know how to feel about the odds. Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Talk to his supervisor....let them know you will cancel the add on since your reservation has not been secured....then if they call your bluff, cancel the add-on and just purchase later. I mean you are a member and adding on! He is getting kudos for that why shouldn't you? You are buying enough points to cover your reservation so they should cover it IMHO. I would also PM, Bill and see if he can help you.
