Help an overplanner out

ummm....so I am trying to start planning my mom & kids only trip next October. I was excited to see that the dates were already up on disney's site so i can reserve, but have a question....

Can I go ahead and reserve everything for the week of Oct. 2012 now, and if they by some chance offer free dining, add that to the reservation when it becomes available? Or, would they make me cancel the ressies, wait for refund, and then make the ressies for the free dining?

If you book a package, then yes, you can just call and have the free dining discount applied if it is released for October 2012. But since such a discount hasn't even been released for October 2011 yet, you may have some time to wait.

Unless they've changed things, I am not sure you can even book a package yet. If you can't book a package, you'll probably want to change the reservation to a package as soon as they let you book packages for 2012.
