Hi Everyone...

I just booked our 2 week stay for July...We are staying 7 nights in AKV Jambo in a 1brdm std view and 7 nights in a 1brdm lake view in BLT. I just have a few questions...is AKV better to stay at than BWV? The woman in MS who I booked with recommended BWV and I would have booked it over AKV but we have a 7 year old and we want to spend a few days at the resort...I thought I remember reading that there is no quick service restaurant at BWV...Am I right? I know that there is the pizza window and a few things at the Bakery....but is there a quick service restaurant like the other resorts have? Is BWV a better place to stay? Please help!
I also had to wait list 1 night at BLT and booked a studio for the missing night...Do I have a good chance if the wait list coming thru for the 1 night I need? Does anyone have experience with this? It's a Wed night that I need to come thru...
Any help/advice is appreciated....

We love both AKV and BWV. If you are spending a couple of days at the resort and your daughter likes animals she will love AKV. I don't think you could go wrong with either but for hanging around the resort we prefer AKV.

Meant to answer another question you had.
There is the Boardwalk To Go kiosk which has hot dogs, burgers, chicken strips and a lot of similar fast foods. (You can look at the menu under the dining section of the DIS. It also has a picture of the kiosk) We have eaten there several times and think it is pretty good. I am not sure of the hours during the summer though. I remember going during the summer a few years ago and they didn't open until later because it was so hot.

Like others stated you cannot go wrong especially if you are just hanging out at the resort. I like staying at BW if we are planning a visit to Epcot or Hollywood Studios. A short walk from BW is the Swan and Dolphin and they have a couple quick serves venues. The family always likes to stroll over there for a meal.

Boardwalk and Jambo are two of our favorites. We've purchased DVC points at both resorts because we had too much trouble getting rooms in the 7-month window.

Your quick-service dining question about Boardwalk: for ANY dining other than in-room and what few breakfast selections exist at the BelleView Lounge, you must walk outside onto the Boardwalk. The bakery is recently renovated/expanded and the choices are quite good, we had several excellent lunches and light dinners there at New Year's. The pizza window, a hot-dog stand and Joe's (Margaritas & snacks) are within 100 yards of the Bakery. You can also catch the boat or walk over to Beach Club for a slightly expanded counter-service menu.

As far as entertainment, there are numerous kid-centric activities all day long at Jambo's Uzima Springs pool and some in the lobby and they list them daily (in addition to simply enjoying the savanna view of animals). Also, a quick shuttle-van can take you to/from the port cochere to Kidani, and their kids'-play-area at the pool is very nice. Boardwalk's entertainment for kids is reasonably active at the main pool ... but be sure to be on the Boardwalk waterfront from approx. 6:30 p.m. till 9:30. There are different performers (magicians, jugglers, etc.) who perform 15-minute shows approx. every 30 minutes and they usually recruit a child or two into the show. If the weather is bad, they'll show up in Boardwalk's lobby.

You can't go wrong at either place! Enjoy!

There is no Mara-like dining facility at BWV. BCV does have the Marketplace, but that is smaller than the Mara.

So, no, BWV doesn't really have a counter service like AKV or Contemporary.
