I called a few weeks ago to book the HDDR for October for my party of 6 and let then know we would be on the dining plan. They took my CC for confirmation and I noticed today when I got my bill in that they have charged me for it. I thought they didn't charge until the night or if you were a no-show?? Was I wrong about this?

As of August 29, 2004, full payment will be required in full for the Hoop-Dee-Doo, Spirit of Aloha Show and Mickey's Backyard BBQ at the time of booking. As long as you cancel up to 48 hours in advance, you will receive a full refund.

So how do they work it when you are using the dining plan to do this? Do you get a credit back?

I'm completely in the dark on the dining plan...I'm sure someone else can help you though!

Call them back and tell them you have the Dining Plan. They should credit your card.
 
I'm curious about the HDDR and the dining plan too. We are a party of 9 and only 3 of us are on the plan. We haven't made a reservation yet and were speculating and what they do to charge your card.

We are a group of 12 going in June. :grouphug: I booked the HDDR for all of us and told them that we are on the dining plan and they told me that that would be fine. They did take my credit card but only to use in the event that we didnt show up or cancel within 48 hours. I saw some post about this very same thing and everyone complaining that they had been charged after being told that they wouldnt so I called back the next day to be sure that my card had not been charged. I was assured by the CM that it hadnt been charged and that it wouldnt since we were on the dining plan. I have periodically checked my credit card account online just to be sure and have had no problems so far.
Hope it works out for you. You should call them and let them know that you are on the DP and shouldnt have been charged and want a refund...I know I would. :thumbsup2
 
I just heard from my DSIL who was making our reservations. They put us (the whole reservation) down as using the dining plan even though only 3 of the 9 have it. They said that the rest can pay at our resort when we pick up the tickets. They took the credit card but said they wouldn't charge it unless we fail to cancel 48 in advance.
 
Ok... got it all sorted out.

Called Disney Dining and after being hung up on 4 times I finally found someone that wouldn't put me on hold. She cancelled the original ressie and credited back my credit card and re-made the ressie and told me my card would only be used to guarentee the reservation and would not be charged!!

Relieved that I got that all worked out.... thanks for all the help!
