I just started doing rewards programs last week.
I'm still "feeling my way through" this and I know I'm bound to make some mistakes. Please help prevent some by answering some questions for me:

1. How worried should I be about cc # being stolen bc. of signing up for free trials? My DH is very leary of this and would be giving me his "I told you so!" lecture if this happens. So far I've signed up for about 10 trial offers.

2. I assumed that I would get paid by the GPT site for the offers and surveys that I completed to the end. I was discouraged to read on this board that there is a certain percentage of offers that never get approved, even if you legitimately completed them. How often does this happen? Is it easy to resolve when it happens? On which sites does it happen the least?

3. So far I've only joined TT and Panda Research. What can you tell me about these- good or bad?

4. DIS members are always so discriminating- I've never gotten bad advice here! Sooooooo which GPT sites come highly recommended? (PS- I'm most interested in cash- not points, unless they are easily converted into cash)

5. On the free offers (not trial offers) where you enter your email and then click-- It sends you on a seemingly endless parade of sites. How far do you have to go with these to have this offer approved by the GPT?

That's it for now! I'm sure I'll have more questions. I appreciate any advice you can give! :goodvibes

Gonna keep reading through the threads on this board to educate myself! :woohoo:

1. I think everyone is pretty careful with their credit cards. A lot of people use prepaid Simon Visa cards and love them. I use a virtual number system that my credit card offers that allows me to put a spending limit on each number so that number can't ever be charged again.

2. The freebie offers and surveys sometimes won't credit. There is nothing that the sites can do, they can only help out with the paid offers. You can redo them and many times they will credit the second time around. Also, get a Gmail account so you can move a period around. For example, you'll only get credit from My Insider Deals the first time, so you have to make yourself appear to be a "new" person by changing your email address.

3. I know nothing about those. I was signed up for TT but gave up. I haven't really heard much about Panda Research.

4. Sunshine Rewards and CashDuck are really popular ones and I love them! I'm also signed up for MonsterPaysCash, RockHardCash and DealBarbiePays. All of them pay cash, giftcards, Paypal, whatever you choose.

5. As far as clicking, pay attention. Many times it will say "thanks for completing" or something like that at the very top of the screen and you can totally miss it. Kira, the owner of CashDuck said that if it doesn't tell you you're done, 10 screens or so should be more than fine. I know TheNetPanel never tells you you're done, but on the last "submit" click it says, "Final Step". Once you press it, it takes you to more survey but you're really done.

Feel free to PM me with any specifics!

So far I've signed up for about 10 trial offers. It happened to me, but it was more fraudulent charges than it being stolen. I'm prone to suggest that newbies either use one-time use numbers or a pre-paid Visa.

I've had it happen to me on both CD and SR. It happens a little less when you're new, as your IP address is less likely to be in an advertiser's system. It's just something you get used to happening, and while it stinks to get spam you didn't get paid for, it's a part of the game.

3. So far I've only joined TT and Panda Research. What can you tell me about these- good or bad?

I've used and been paid by both Cash duck and Sunshine rewards.
5. On the free offers (not trial offers) where you enter your email and then click-- It sends you on a seemingly endless parade of sites. How far do you have to go with these to have this offer approved by the GPT? Generally all they want is your info.

Wow! that sounds perfect! What card do you have that offers that?

Thanks! I may just take you up on that! :thumbsup2

I have a Bank of America (used to be MBNA) card. The service is called ShopSafe and its great!! It creates a new number for each online purchase and you put in its limit. I know it works because I've gotten a few emails saying my payment couldn't go through. Hmmm, maybe its because they tried to charge more than they said! I think all of us agree that you're better safe than sorry. Its not that your number will be stolen, but its likely that it will be charged after you cancelled, etc.

I just looked into Bank of Am.
I found a cash back B. of A. card that is offering $50 account credit after first purchase!
I'm going to call and apply by phone tomorrow- that way I can ask about the "Shop Safe" program that gives the virtual numbers that you spoke of. Thks so much for this tip!

So far I've signed up for about 10 trial offers. I started out using my CC but switched to use a prepaid Visa. I have never had any issues with my numbers being stolen, but I just didnt want so many things showing on my CC.:lmao:

I was discouraged to read on this board that there is a certain percentage of offers that never get approved, even if you legitimately completed them. How often does this happen? 3. So far I've only joined TT and Panda Research. What can you tell me about these- good or bad? Never done TT, Panda has a high pay out at $100 and I have heard all negative.

4. DIS members are always so discriminating- I've never gotten bad advice here! Sooooooo which GPT sites come highly recommended? (PS- I'm most interested in cash- not points, unless they are easily converted into cash) I have Three favorites. Cash Duck, Sunshine rewards and newly Monster pays cash. The customer service from the three, esp CD and SR, is spectacular!

5. On the free offers (not trial offers) where you enter your email and then click-- It sends you on a seemingly endless parade of sites. How far do you have to go with these to have this offer approved by the GPT? I usually go to the end unless it specifys only page one, first two pages or so on.

I'm on TT and I really like them. I have never done Panda because of the $100 minimum to cash out and I've also never heard anything good about them.

I tend to stick to the tried and true sites and stay away from any that I've never heard of that get posted on here by relatively new members. I have been paid by Treasure Trooper, Sunshine Rewards, Creations Rewards, Quick Rewards, and My Points. I do all of those sites each month. I joined Cash Duck last month and cashed out for the first time. I'm waiting to see if they pay. I have heard good feedback from regulars around here so I'm not too concerned about them.

I find the forums on the respective rewards sites to be helpful as most of the are set up to tell you which offers pay and how to do them. They are also a good source to learn about how the advertisers work and which merchants pay for shopping and which ones don't.

Thanks for pointing me toward the forums. I "glanced" quickly at the TT forums, but I kept coming across threads that didn't apply to me or that I didn't understand bc. the terms they used were unfamiliar at the time. I will definitely check them out again and try to glean some info that I can use-- like you suggested!

PS- Upon further investigation I'm ditching Panda Research! (See another thread I started)

Thanks for EVERYONE'S help here! :thumbsup2 I REALLY appreciate it! :goodvibes
