I posted this on the Budget Board with no replies. Maybe this board can help.

The last time we were at WDW was 2000. At that time, there were several restaurants offering kids eating free with a paid adult entree. I really can't remember too much about this except we discovered it right before we left. The only restaurant we took advantage of it was Tony's at the MK. I thought I remembered that there were some choices in MGM offering it too.

Does anyone remember this? Is it still being offered? and if so, Where? Thanks for helping a very busy, overloaded mother's mind. LOL

Kids three and under eat free at buffet restaurants or can share your plate, but if not a buffet and you order from a children's menu you have to pay for them. I'm pretty sure that's right. Anyone else?

Actually, it's under 3, at all buffet, family-style places. If you order something off a children's menu, you will get charged regardless of age.

I vaguely remember that benefit. Was it a Disney (Magic Kingdom) Club perk? Seem to me you had your choice of a free desert of child's meal with purchase of an adult's.
Anyway, I'm sure they haven't offered it in a while:(

Just to clarify.... when you do character meals and such children under 3 are free then too- right? Or do they charge anyway, even if they aren't eating or just eating a little off your plate or what?

At buffet our DS ate for free. He has allergies so at many restaurants we ordered him just french fries and a kids drink, many of the restaurants did not charge us. Unfortuantely I can not remember which ones did not charge us. I am sure that every restaurant would have charged us if we ordered him a kids meal though.

Just a note, DH and I shared an appetizer and dinner at both San Angel Inn and Rose and Crown Pub and the staff did not make a big deal out of it so I am sure they wouldn't care if you did this with your children also.

If it's all-you-can-eat Character meals, under 3 is free. We've never had a problem with that even though our DS is very tall for his age and looks older. On our last trip, he was over 3 and some CM's still didn't charge for him. (Yes, we did say he was 3, not "under 3") Of course, we tipped alot more in those instances. :D

Dixie Luvr you did it! You restored memory to an overused-overworked-mother's mind. It WAS through the Disney Club which we were members at that time through my husband's credit union. It is all coming back to me. Thanks for rattling an old confused mind. LOL:confused: :earsgirl:

Are kids under 3 free at Character Breakfasts? For instance, CRT or Donalds Breakfastosauraus?

Thanks for the info!

Those two I KNOW they are... because I booked them and while they needed to know the amount of people and counted them all- they then wanted to know ages and under 3 not costing was mentioned.
:)
