Hello

I am trying to determine what to wear during our park days. Here is some background: I am in the process of losing weight. I have about 50 left to go- when I'm not at work I tend to live in workout clothes (as I spend most of my free time in the gym). At work and during the weekends I've been wearing maxi skirts and tanktops all summer. Both in that they're cool but also because the folded over waistband of the skirt has allowed them to carry me through my weightloss without having to buy new clothes each time I drop a size.

I realized that- I don't know what to wear. I pretty much hate shorts. Unfortunately I still suffer from a case of thunder thighs and nothing sounds more excrutiating than my thighs rubbing together while wearing a skirt (yes even with the thigh glide stuff...). Plus long flowy maxi skirts don't sound practicle chasing after a 4 and 6yo through various parks for a week :)

I don't really want to go out and buy a ton of new clothes for a trip, only to never wear them again and/or shrink out of them. Since I'm still plus sized (14) a lot of second hand stores are really limited in what I can find.

My question is- would it be the end of the world if I wore some of my dry-wicking compression crops and tanks during park days? I'll likely be wearing my runners or my sketchers. There is also a good chance my hair will be pulled back in a hat. Probably not the best for family pictures (not doing memory maker) but I tend to be the one behind the camera anyway (both in that I hate having my picture taken and also my husband just doesn't think to take pics).

What are your thoughts and/or suggestions?

Wear compression shorts under your skirts.
I thought about that- and I do have a pair but they tend to roll up my tigh and are pretty uncomfortable. I'm also not sure how practicle a floor length maxi shirt would be getting in/out of rides?

Maybe I just need better compression shorts that go to the knees. Do you have any suggestions?

Buy a couple of pull-tie shorts and wear them with your tanks. I know you don't love shorts, but they will most likely be the most comfortable...plus, with an elastic waist and tie, you can adjust them as you lose weight.

Slipshorts from Jockey are amazing under dresses and skirts. This late in the season sundresses and skorts should be on clearance. Also, what about knee length roll top skirts or if you have some maxi skirts you are about to shrink out of you could always cut and hem them.

Honestly, I wouldn't look twice if you had on compression crops and a tank top. Stilettos or purple polka dot underwear with white shorts would cause me to shake my head.

I always wear something under dresses and skirts. I have cotton bike shorts that I wear a lot. They help prevent chafing and they also provide some protection with flyaway skirts. Depending on the skirt/dress, something like men's boxers can work well too.

What you currently wear now is perfectly fine and appropriate. The style in Florida is to wear workout wear everywhere (parks, mall, doctors office, etc.). I live in Tampa. :)

Be comfortable, no one will care what you are wearing.

I wore dry-fit cropped leggings and dry-fit t-shirts almost everyday our last trip. I was so comfortable and I actually think the pictures are cute. And I think running sneakers look way better with workout clothes than with regular shorts (although I always put practicality before fashion at WDW).
