My parents are planning a trip to DL and want to go this October, the 18th-21st, if things are planned right.
1st- wheres the cheapest website to get DL hotel, and tickets?
2nd- does anybody know what rides are gonna be down?
3rd-anybody know the weathers like in Oct-a roundabout guess?

For me, this coming trip was a shock because I usually plan the DL trips for all of us a year in advance and we've never done it in Oct.

This site has some great info for weather & planning. Just click the "disneyland" tab at the top and then click "planning". Oct weather is usually mid 70's with a chance of rain. Cooler on the coast obviously.;)

You should also be able to find info about refurbs from Disney's website. Here's a link http://disneyland.disney.go.com/calendar/daily/#/default/2012/08/14 Just input your dates (as you get closer) and you'll be able to see what's closed. I do hear that Indiana Jones is scheduled- which is a BIG one along with several other smaller rides. You can also call Disney directly, sorry- don't know the p#.

Cheapest for DL hotel, I can't help you with as we never stay there. But if you're parents qualify, they can get a senior discount by calling the on-site hotels directly. I believe someone said the discount was 30%??:confused3

Also note that your parents' trip dates coincide with the Utah Educators Association (UEA) dates (10/18-22). That means heavy crowds at DLR, especially on Saturday, 10/20. Study the info available here on fastpasses and that should help a lot. If your parents are thinking of attending Mickey's Halloween Party (2 thumbs up!), they should buy their tickets sooner rather than later -- that party usually sells out because of UEA crowds. And any reservations for restaurants (e.g. Blue Bayou, Carthay Circle, etc.) and shows (e.g. Fantasmic! VIP seating, WOC Preferred Dining Package, etc.) should be made as soon as the dates open up.

So far we know that Big Thunder and Indiana Jones will both be down for refurb. I don't believe there is anything else planned.

Isn't BTRRM being down just a rumor at this point? I don't know if it's been confirmed, yet. At least not since I checked the boards last night.

Yes! I thought this was just a rumor too! Hoping & wishing it's not true!!!

But, I do believe that Indy was confirmed. Another thread said that it's listed on Disneyland's website, under the ride specifically and NOT under "refurbs". I tried looking myself, but for some reason, my computer wouldn't load Disney's website. AT ALL! If this is the case- just seems wrong for Disney to NOT list Indy directly under the refurbs list, kwim??

Indy was confirmed, BTMRR still a rumor at this point. Another Disney site is now reporting BTMRR as going down Jan 2013.

It's possible Storybook boats and Casey Jr and IASW will be down for holiday overlays
