We will be going to WDW in November for our first time.:woohoo:

Right now I am thinking we wont be doing park hopper and we will be doing the QSDP.

DH (and I to an extent) doesn't like to be tied down by reservations while on vacation. Also he could pretty much not care what he eats as he says "He's not down there for the food". I disagree a bit there. I dont want to be eating burgers and chicken fingers for a week. Anyway, we decided to forego the dining plan that has TS.

However I still do want to do 2-3 ADRs. A definite must do is at least 1 character meal.

My 7yr old loves Princesses and one of my 4yr olds is obsessed with Tinkerbell. My other 4yr old is obsessed with Dora and Penguins(not that that helps much at Disney lol).

Any recommendations for us? Breakfast and dinner ideas welcome!

Also if we dont do park hopper we will have to plan our reservation meals to the day we will be in that particular park, right?

Thanks!

I will say, there is a lot to eat aside from chicken fingers and burgers on the QSDP but it's not something I would choose. With our family, eating at Disney is part of the experience and for my husband and I, a real luxury.

If you do not have a park hopper pass you will want to eat as a TS establishment in the same park you visited that day.

We went to WDW last May and I never once felt tied down to my dinner reservation. We had planned ahead of time what parks we would visit on what days. Most of the time we ended up in Epcot for the evening.

If you stick with the QSDP and don't do a park hopper, I would pick TS places in resorts. IMO, Boma and Ohana are the first I would look into. Chef Mickey's, is great for the experience and that one is in the Contemporary building.

Another thing to consider is if you are going prior to Nov. 14, you will be there for Epcot's food and wine festival. You may want to "eat" your way around the world and forgo any adrs for that day.

If you dd is a princess lover I would definitely recommend the Princess Storybook Breakfast in Norway at EPCOT. Make your ADR right at the 180 day mark and get the earlier ADR available. This way you can eat before the park opens and not worry about running to a reservation if that's what your DH doesn't like.

Another fun (and I think fairly reasonable) restaurant for kids is Sci-Fi. We eat there for lunch and the you get to eat in a "car" and watch the Drive In movies!

If you are looking for a dinner reservation outside of the parks I would recommend Ohana (at the Polynesian) or Chef Mickeys (Contemporary). Good luck.

Since it's your first trip I would probably stick with eating places in the
parks so you won't have to leave/travel as much and enjoy your
1st trip. We have made several trips to WDW and have never purchased hoppers
and have never needed them because there is so much to do in one park.

Most of the QS restaurants have a good variaty.

MK--We like Cosmic Rays (it has ribs and roasted chicken platters
and ofcouse the burgers). I also like Pinnochios Haus in Fantesyland
because it is so cute (has pizzas, saleds). There is also a convenant
Main Street Bakery which has breakfast foods, pastery, eggs.

Epcot--has your most variaty and I love the Fish and chips in the UK World show case but they have everything from Japanise, chinese, mexican,
morrocan. I have also heard (never been) that the Princess breakfast (TS)
in Norway is good and has the princesses (less expensive than eatting at
the Castle in MK).

AK--We always eat at Pizzafari because it is so pretty with beautiful murals
on all of the walls. We actually go all the way to the back of the restaurant
and exit to the patio (very quiet relaxing--most people don't know about it
and it is not crowded). If you want to eat at a good TS breakfast
"Donald Safari Breakfast at the Tusker House" is excellent--Characters:
Donald, Daisy (hard to find), Mickey and Goofy.

DHS--we always eat at Pizza Planet--Toy Story Themed QS.
Fun TS restaurant is "Sci-fi" there are 50's styled cars which are
your booth tables. It is themed like a Drive-in Movie-plays old B-rated sci-fi clips from the 50s. Very fun!!

Have a fun 1st trip!!
