HELP!! 3 ADRs at "most disappointing"!!!

Ah dont worry about it. I just read through the thread about Restaurants that were Disappointing and honestyl 90% of them were restaurants that we love. The other 10% we haven't tried but are going to.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but it's just that, their opinion. You have to try it for yourself. People have different tastes.

We are eating at Chef Mickey's. We do on every trip. we are also trying 'Ohana too. If we dont like them, we at least know that we tried them and not becuase of what someone else said

I absolutely loved Le Cellier and Rose & Crown but there were people that said they did not like them one bit. Just opinions

I just finished reading several pages of posts to the thread about your most disappointing restaurants. I am really freakin about this!! Most of you said 3 of the restaurants I booked ADR at!! Whispering Canyon, Ohanas, and Chef Mickeys!! The only reason I even heard about these restaurants and booked them in the first place was because so many people here recommended them!!!!!! Now I don't know what to do. I have Chef Mickey's booked for my DS 5th b-day breakfast, Whispering Canyon for lunch one day, and Ohanas was going to be our last night dinner!!! I do not want to leave Disney with a bad taste in my mouth! Please let me know a better place to go with DH and DS!!!

Don't change a thing - your plans sound great to me! Honestly, as others have already posted, we all have different tastes. Here are my family's opinions (and we are a picky family of "foodies"): Breakfast at Chef Mickey's is great and your DS will love celebrating his birthday there! He'll get a special "signed" placemat, a cupcake with a candle at the end of the meal, and everyone will sing to him - howmuch fun is that!?!

Whispering Canyon Cafe is a ton of fun and we love the all-you-can-eat skillet of barbecue foods (been there twice and ordered it both times for DH and me - DD6 gets hotdog and then "shares" our skillet, too!).

'Ohana is a fun place to eat, too - we haven't been there since the menu changes, but the salad with lime (and ginger?) dressing is yummy, as are the wings and the skewered meats. We sometimes found the meats a bit dry, but just asked for some that were less done and voila! delicious and cooked to our tastes (eaten with the dipping sauces they're pretty darn tasty). Your DS may enjoy the coconut races and other games (DD is shy and chooses to watch from her seat).

Relax and have a great time!

The kids will love them all. I think we Parents tend to find more things wrong than the kiddos ;)

We loved O'hanas and Whispering Canyon. At first my husband didn't want to eat at WC. It was very noisy at night and he is very noise sensitive, but we at there for lunch one day and it was quiter and the food was just up his alley! :yay: He's a big BBQ/ribs lover! Our whole family loved O'hana's. :bounce: In fact my husband's number one request was that we go back to O'hana's! It was number 2 on my son's request list! We have never eaten at Chef Mickey's, but I'd love to.

Every time I made my decisions about our dining choices before our last trip(1st time eating at Disney), up would come a negative thread about one of the choices! It threw me into a bit of a panic, but in the end I stayed with my choices and basically they were great. There is always going to be the chance of a 'bad day' at any restaurant anyway and you can't plan for that.

For any bad report, you'll find a good one. If you go to a thread that's called your most disappointing experience, well...

I am sure there are threads about your best experience in Disney restaurants, and those you mentioned will come up many times.

Have you looked at the "food porn thread"? In there, you'll find pictures of the food you can get at the restaurants you have ADRs for, and so you can get an idea of what will be on your plate!

Take bad and good opinions with a grain of salt. Someone is always going to hate a restuarant someone else loves.

If it helps, I have eaten at Ohana and Whispering Canyon. Loved them both and would gladly go back.

I love Whispering Canyon, Ohanas, and Chef Mickeys. The pork at WC is really good and it is fun for the kids, Ohana is great, I don't like all the food there, so I eat the bits I like, you can also see Wishes from there is you are at the right time. I have never had a bad meal at Chef Mickey's, great buffet choice and fun for the kids again.

GO!! And have a blast. Please write a review and let us know how it went. Sending Foodie PD your way pixiedust:

You picked my 3 favorites!! :cheer2:

We love Chef Mickey's for breakfast! Last year we did my DS's 6th b-day there, and had a ball! So much fun!! And we actually like the food a lot too. My dd would be heart broken if she didn't get her breakfast pizza at least once a trip. I love the hashbrown casserole.

I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Sue's Southwestern Chicken Soup at WCC!

Oh..and the salad, and cornbread..YUM! Again, we go here for the food, so we wouldn't be disappointed either way as far as entertainment goes, but it just so happend we had a blast!

And Ohana's is one of my new favs! In all the years we've been going to WDW, we just ate at Ohana for the first time last year. We loved it! I didn't have the "old" menu to compare it to, so that might have helped some, but it was totally enjoyable.

The sevice was a little slow, but we just relaxed and enjoyed the time spent just soaking it all in. We weren't in a hurry to get anywhere, so that helped.

I think you made great choices! :teeth:

Chef Mickeys is my daughters very favorite place in the world. We end every trip there. It may be that more people have opinions about these places because they are POPULAR.

I have learned from lots of time on message boards that everyone has a different opinion. Chef Mickey's and Ohanas are must-dos for all of our trips to Disney World. Chef Mickey's is my favorite buffet...we had read lots about how great Crystal's palace dinner was...this last trip was our second time trying it for Dinner and we did not like it at all. NOW...that doesn't mean that you won't like it...most people love it, but everyone has different tastes and likes.

We love Ohanas. It is my husbands favorite restaurant. However, we were dissappointed our last trip there. The food was still as great to us as ever. But we were on the dining plan and the service was awful! We felt so rushed. However, I will ask the waiter next time to slow down (I learned that off the DIS boards too). I will continue to go to Ohanas each trip...it is a wonderful restaurant. The view of the castle and watching Wishes from there is so amazing!

We tried Whispering Canyon for the first time this last trip. We liked it. It won't be a must-do each trip, only because it took a lot of time up for us. The drive out there and the dinner lasted a long time. But the food and entertainment was great! It was all worth it to get a pic of my sons with about 20 Ketchup bottles! LOL

That is the fun of Disney. Try all the restaurants at least once. You may be surprised that you fall in love with all 3 places...Happy Planning!

All three are on my list for this trip! I love them all. Chef mickeys is a great meal for a B'DAY! I always go to Ohana and Whispering Canyon good food and alot of fun for the kids. I like them and will still go and so should you .

We have eaten at Chief Mickey and Ohana serveral times and have loved it everytime with no complaints!! Its all a matter of opinon. We with a large party as well (6 adults and 4 kids) all of us loved these restaurants!!:)

Thank you , thank-you! I am certainly going to keep my ADR's for Chef Mickeys, WC, and Ohanas. I think, from the sounds of it, my ds will really enjoy them. I will be sure to return with a review. I am going with an open mind and no matter what happens------I will be in DisneyWorld!!!!!!! Who cares!!!! :cool1:   :cool1: :woohoo:

Ohana's is fabulous! I would get the all you can eat skillet at WCC. The WL is a great hotel to walk around. It is not so much the food i love at these places it is the atmosphere. I have got to do Ohana's every trip. You will love it.

Have a GREAT time! We (DH, DSS (10 & 11) and I) ate at WCC on our first night in Disney. It was a great way for us to start off our Disney vacation. My boys loved the hootin and hollerin that I would NEVER let them do in a regular restaurant. They both LOVE BBQ, and they were in heaven with their meals.

As we are planning our next trip, it is the first restaurant that they put on their list.
It's the old saying, "That's why crayons come in boxes of 64." Everyone likes a different one!

I think you should go for it too! Chef Mickeys.. despite bad reviews.. is a MUST for me when I take my niece (in 2 years :confused3 )...
Whispering Canyon was great! It was VERY empty when we went though.. 4 other families there.. only one had children but the staff had a lot of fun with them.
And o'hana.. I was there with no children.. for those with children it looked fun. My table was just in the wrong spot and I kept getting whacked with hulla hoops and coconuts and the CM we had was awful. Most people swear by it though. I think if I had my niece wiht me there I'd have appreciated it more. I think all 3 restraunts are great for families with little ones!
