Help!! 1st visit to Disneyland

I have made a couple of trips to WDW...But have never been to DL..

In March I am beginning to plan a trip for me and my 2 girls 17 and 21.

Definitely want to see world of color. advice on getting a great view? anything availiable like the fastasmic dinner package at DHS?

Any tips would be helpful.

I have planned all my WDW trips myself through disneys site, should I do that? or use a travel agent?

Plan on flying to John Wayne airport, NOT renting a car to save $$.Arrive on Sunday early enough to go to the parks that evening and spend Monday and Tuesday in the parks and fly back home on Wednesday.

Sort of, but it doesn't cut down on wait time or guarantee a good view. To view WoC from Paradise Park you need a Show Pass, and with the meals you get one.

It's easy to plan on your own. Read the the thread Black Jack linked it covers lots of the planning criteria.

Also, reminder that WoC doesn't have any seating -- you just stand, even with an FP or a meal package. I've heard many folks say that just getting there early is a better deal than a meal package.

Going to piggyback off the OP's thread. DW and I are taking our first trip together as a couple. Each of us has been to DL in the past, but it's been many, many years for either of us. We've been to WDW twice and taking our 3rd trip there this year. We had some Southwest credits to use, so we thought a quick trip to DL would be fun.
